Colbie Colbert writing.  Thought I'd let  y'all know what has been going on with us.

Unfortunately, we aren't doing that well.  Seems that Kaitlyn Ashley, our middle child, has fallen ill; she's now in the hospital, in Intensive Care.  Her heart again.  She had to be shocked by the paramedics, so her heart could be restored back to its normal rhythm; it was terrifying for us to see this happen to her!

She's been in the hospital now for nearly two days; she will probably be released by sometime next week.  Which means no celebrating the Fourth of July:  I'll spend it at the hospital, to be with Kaitie, while my mama and daddy watch over Diamond and Granger.  I am sure Di is very disappointed; I know I am.  Di was looking forward to seeing the fireworks.  I told her maybe she still can see the fireworks if MeeMaw or PeePaw take her and Granger to the park, where the fireworks will be shot off.

Meanwhile, my husband and myself will be with Kaitie as she recovers from her latest medical crisis.

I feel bad for Kaitie; I know she was looking forward to the fireworks.  Now all she'll see are four walls; if she's lucky she may see fireworks off in the distance as she looks out of the hospital windows--that is, if she's out of the PICU by then.  Right now, she's holding her own, so being released from the PICU looks like a distinct option for her.  It's been a huge answer to prayer to see her doing better than she was!

Yesterday, she slept most of the day; doctors also removed more tubes from her.  I am sure that will make her feel better.  It's always hard to see your child tethered to wires, monitors, and machinery; it's the worst thing a parent can ever face!

I don't know what Kaitie is doing; she must be doing better because the hospital hasn't called.  If she isn't doing well, they would have probably called by now.  A small relief.  Hopefully she had a good night.

Well, I am going to take Granger and Di to the park, then drop them off at MeeMaw's while I go to the hospital to see Kaitie.  I will write in here again with another update; hopefully by then she will be ready to be released from the hospital!  Until then, take care and say a prayer for us; we'd greatly appreciate it!
