Dear Journal~
Hello from the land of polar bears, Native peoples, icebergs, the aurora borealis, majestic mountains, and totem poles! Yes, it's just li'l ol' me, Jenna Aurora Doucet, writing; I know it's been a while since I last wrote! Please forgive me.
I have been incredibly busy, trying to keep tabs on two very active little boys, and to keep my husband, Michael, in line. He's not really bad, as far as husbands go; sometimes, though, he can act like a little child; at times, he's worse than the boys! LOLOLOLOL
I've also been wrestling with my health. That's nothing new. I have my good days as well as the bad; maybe it's a good thing I live here in Alaska; I hear heat has been gripping a large portion of the Lower 48, and heat is something that I can't tolerate. I can get deathly sick if exposed to the heat for a period of time; I sometimes have had to go into the hospital for near heat exhaustion or stroke. I really get sick; it's not a good thing whenever this happens!
When it gets above 65 degrees, I stay inside the house, even if it's bright pristine sunshine outside. Don't want to risk it.
Michael, Mattaq, and Kenai, on the other hand, are doing super! Michael continues to work hard, and the boys continue to keep me very busy, as only a mom can. It is still hard for me to handle them at times with only one good working hand and leg (paralyzed on one side, remember), plus I don't hear them screaming or yelling; when I see them punching one another, I know it's time to lower the boom on them as only I can. LOL
I also have my friends Tess Taquaneh and River Maq come help if Michael isn't around; they make the best babysitters! They bring their kids over (Tess has two daughters, Aurora Kaye and Borie [Borealis] Faye [they're twins], and River has three boys, Richter, Esau, and Stryker); we have a regular daycare center going on here at times! LOL I'm just glad I don't have to hear all the kids hollering; maybe it's a good thing I'm deaf?? LOLOLOLOL
Now it's the fourth of July, almost; I will probably stay home, but Michael will take the boys to see the parade and then the fireworks later that evening. I will probably sleep a good part of the day and later on, maybe Tess and River will come if they don't go to see the fireworks. If they don't, I'll sleep; I won't hear the fireworks, anyway.
I haven't been sleeping good: my fibromyalgia and MS have been giving me no end of trouble. Some days I can't even walk; then my electric scooter is the order of the day, or else if I'm having problems seeing, I just stay in a darkened room and wait for my vision to clear; sometimes it can take hours or even days. It's very annoying!
Well, Kenai is crying (I see his mouth wide open and tears on his face); have to see what's going on. I will write in here again soon; sorry for being such a terrible journal keeper, but when you have my problems, writing doesn't come easy at times! And trying to chase two extremely active, energetic toddlers only adds to the fun! WHEEE! LOL
Until next time you hear from me, this is Jenna Aurora signinig off! Take care and God bless!
~Love, your friend in Alaska, Jenna Aurora Doucet. :)
