Hello! Summer here. Summer Parkingham. Hope this finds y'all well; we are doing great! Just got back yesterday from the lake, after spending the last two weeks there; it was awesome!
Grandpa Ted just left this morning; already we miss him. He lives in Georgia; he's in his eighties, but he's as spry as a young colt. He has more energy than my parents, and they're in their forties! He's incredible! We had a lot of fun with him around; he's cool!
Mamma is doing laundry, and I have been helping her when she calls. I've also been trying to entertain Ramey, who is miserable; she has a bad case of sun poisoning. She will be okay, but she will be sore for a while. She's dark-red; she got cooked good by the sun! I feel bad for her!
No therapy for her this week until she gets over her sun poisoning/sunburn! Maybe in a way that's good (for her); she hates therapy, especially when they make her stretch her limbs or make her work. (What kid does like to work??)
Daddy is outside, cooking on the grill; tonight it's hot dogs, hamburgers, or pork ribs, along with fried veggies and juicy, tasty watermelon for dessert. One of my favorites; yummm!! We'll be eating within the next hour or so; then I guess we'll lay around like fat, lazy slugs, until the food in our bellies digests.
We had a great time on July Fourth. They shot the fireworks over the lake; it was a mammoth display, one of the biggest ones I've seen. It was super! They must have gone on for at least a half hour; the noise from them exploding overhead was spectacular! We didn't go to the parade, but we did play games and have a picnic, so that was nice. It was good to forget of our problems, even if only for a little while.
I did get mad at my sister, though. She said I had an attitude; I told her she was the original Little Miss Attitude; she slugged me with her good fist. Right in the kisser. I was not amused! My mouth hurt for a good hour afterwards; she may have had a stroke, but she sure packs a wallop! WOW!!
We may go to Colorado next month to visit our Aunt Stevie and Uncle Tyler; they are mom's brother and his wife. They have four kids: Ash (6), River (8), Briar (11), and Stone (14). They invited us out there to stay at their brand new condo. (They're rich.) Hope so; I love it in the mountains! It's so pretty and clean up there!
After that, if we go, then we have to get our school supplies and get ready for school. Bummer. I was having such fun on our summer break; I'm not ready to think about books, homework, or teachers just yet! Let me continue to have fun; I'm a kid; I don't want to even think about school!!
Well, daddy is calling; supper may be done earlier than what he thought it would. He's been grilling for a while now. I will go now; I will write in here another day. Until then, this is Summer Parkingham signing off; take care and God bless!
