Spinner updates us on different things in his life, including the fact that even with being paralyzed, his uncle will still be able to chase, which pleases him greatly.

Dear  Journal~

Spinner Regan here.  Hope this finds you well; I'm finer than froghair split three ways!   LOL

Means I'm doin' goooooood!!  LOL

Uncle Twister will still be able to chase his storms.  I was worried that he wouldn't be able to 'cause he's paralyzed and in a wheelchair, but mama said that they have adapted vans that can hold wheelchairs.  Being in a wheelchair shouldn't stop him from doing what he loves, and that's chasing storms.  The bigger and badder they are, the more he loves it!

Uncle Twister does get sad sometimes because he can no longer walk; he's learning, though, that just because he can't walk, he isn't helpless.  He still can do many things; he will just have to do them sitting down, and that includes stormchasing.

We enjoy having our uncle live with us.  He's funny, smart, and crazier than a June bedbug in July.  LOL

My little sister Maeli is a little diva.  At six, she has discovered singing; she is always opening her mouth in song.  She isn't bad, but at times I don't want to hear "The Climb" or some other dumb song for the millionth-umpteenth time!  I'd love to shove one of my dirty socks into her mouth; that ought to quiet her up good!  LOL

Carston, who's three, and has spina bifida (he can't walk, though he is learning; maybe one day he'll be able to walk with help), is doing wonderful other than a few minor infections when he gets sick.  He is a little chamer with his apricot-colored hair and intense purple-blue eyes.  People can't help falling in love with him 'cause he's so adorably cute!

I also think it's 'cause he's disabled.  People feel sorry for him, so they want to be his friend.  I don't think that's right; Carston is much more than his disability; he needs to be seen as a boy with a problem, not a problem that is a boy!

Sometimes people pick on him because he can't walk; when they do I want to turn tornadic and beat the livin' storms outta them!  LOL  Talk about your severe weather outbreak!  LOLOLOLOL

In a few weeks, school will start.  (Sigh)  I will be in the fourth grade.  I just hope that the teacher this year is as nice as the one I had in third grade; I don't want any mean teachers!!  *sob*

I'm not really lookin' forward to school; I'm havin' too much fun playin', especially now, with Uncle Twister staying with us!

The weather here in Hotlanta is exactly that:  H O T with a capital 'H'!  No problem:  Maeli and I spend the days swimming or suckin' up on ice cream or iced tea when we get hot!  I love summer; I wish it could be summer all the time, all year long!  Even at Christmas!   :)

Well, mama is up, calling us for breakfast, so I'd best go.  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is your little weatherbug, Spinner, saying so long and God bless!  Byeee!!

~Spinner Regan.  :D

This is a great inspirational write for many handicapped people, Karen; including myself. Sometimes, I find that I let my disability get in the way of my goals. I needed this today. Well written and a very enjoyable update, my friend. Thanks and God bless.

Had to laugh at the spit and fire in Spinner's comment, "Sometimes people pick on him because he can't walk; when they do, I want to turn tornadic and beat the livin' storms outta them! Talk about your severe weather outbreak!" Spoken like a true weather geek. LOL! Glad to see Uncle Twister will be able to chase again - being a paraplegic shouldn't stop him from doing what he loves. An excellent update, Karen, well done! And I love that piccy. =] And YOU most of all (awwwwww!). LOL

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
