A young boy is having trouble adjusting to his new baby brother, who was adopted from China. Suddenly he isn't the one getting any attention, and he feels left out.

The Chinese symbols stand for "baby boy".

The Bozo.  Yeah, that's what I call him.  He  is okay, as far as brothers go; however, he's a baby; he really can't do too  much yet, and everyone goes ga-ga over him and ignores me.

My name is Peter.  I am ten years old.  I was the only kid in my family; then my parents decided to adopt another kid, so I wouldn't feel so alone, I suppose.  They adopted a kid from China, a baby boy.  He's cute and all, but he's a baby.  Babies are too much work, and they cry all the time.  I know the Bozo does; he can really be a pain!

My parents get mad at me for calling my brother The Bozo, but I don't care.  His real name is Braxton Yung Xi, but I call him the Bozo.  All he does is sleep, eat, cry, poop, pee, sleep, repeat.  He's boring!!

Sometimes I have to help out; if there's one thing I detest, it's changing poopy or peed up diapers; that's gross!  Or feeding him; he spits up, and then I'm going, "Ick, ick, ick!!  Get this nasty kid off of me or away from me!!"  I try my best, but I think I'm a horrible big brother.  The Bozo sees me, and all he does is cry.  I think he hates me.

Mom and dad tell me to be patient.  I am trying, but the Bozo is making it so danged difficult!!

We've only had the Bozo for the past few weeks, but there's times I wish they could return him back to China; I don't need a little brother, especially one that's a baby!!  I liked it better when it was just mom, dad, and me.  Now we have the Bozo, and it's like everyone's fawning over him, and to heck with me!!

What am I?? Yesterday's news??  I'm beginning to feel that way!  Maybe it'd be better if I go to live with the Eskimos in Alaska and become Inuit!  All of a sudden, that's looking more and more possible; if I spend another minute with the Bozo, I think I'm going to go crazy out of my skull!!

Well, I gotta run.  The Bozo is wailing again; I honestly wish they'd ship him to China, back to where he came from, or at least to Siberia!  I want to be an only kid again!!  *Sighhh*

Peter, praise yourself you weren't sibling with me and my brothers, oh how shining would have been the pant seat of your for whining! Brothers and sisters are the best! Heard that being an only child is like being in solitary confinement.

Karen.now your even using Chinese symbols! What next!;-) There is no bounds to your talent! You also are very good at exposing the inner fears of children when they think a new child in the house will take their importance away! I like the Bozo referrence,;-)great write!
