Dear Journal~

Bon voyage!

Sorry!  Couldn't help it; just excited about going on a cruise in just a few short days.  We are going for a week to Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen, in Mexico.  Hubby surprised me with this thing last week; ever since, I have been soaring with the eagles!  LOL

Guess hubby could see how frazzled I've been with the two boys (Mattaq and Kenai), so he decided to treat me with a cruise.  Isn't that nice of him??  Guess he thought I was long overdue for a vacation.  Last really good vacation I had was maybe five years ago, when we went to Australia for the Sydney Summer Olympics.  Ever since, I've been tied down, especially these past several years, when kids entered the picture.

Kenai and Mattaq are still little bitty:  both are still under four years of age; both require much in the way of supervision, nurturing, and love.  While they are no longer immobile, stuck in their cribs, or making baby talk for words, they are still in the throes of potty training (Mattaq has just about mastered it; Kenai, he's still having problems with the concept of "Number 2":  letting us know when he has to go poop-poop in the toilet).

You know how little kids are, especially little boys.  They have the attention span of wet sponges.  They take things so literally, and they still can't comprehend what the word "N-O" really means.  They are both spitfires, full of kinetic energy and adventure; to them, life is nothing but one big, long, unending game!

They have been getting under my skin, testing my patience.  It seems Kenai, the younger of the pair, has really been bad.  He screams to make himself heard (not that I can hear him, mind you, but I still see his red face and wide, open mouth that alerts me that he's yelling), and if he's told not do do something, he'll do it anyway, just to spite me.  It's really getting past the point of aggravating!!

The weather here hasn't really helped:  rainy most days, and humid, with temps in the upper 70's to mid 80's, which is a little too warm for this Inuk to handle.  Oh, I can take it in small doses, but days of constant warmth is ready to do me in!  I can't take the heat!!

And here I am, going to Mexico in a few days on a cruise!  I know it will be stifling hot there; I'll probably be a grease spot in the sand on the beach by the time the stupid cruise is over!  LOL

Other than trying to manage my health, and the kids, I really haven't been doing much except staying in the house to stay out of the heat.  With multiple sclerosis and other health problems, I have to be very careful if I get too warm:  if I get overheated, I can get violently sick.  So I have to stay indoors or around air conditioning as much as possible.

Well, this isn't much of a letter/journal update, and I am sorry about that; it's just that Kenai just dumped a whole gallon container of shortening on the kitchen floor.  Whatta mess!  Arrggh!!  Guess who gets to clean that up?  Yes, little ol' me!!  *Sighhh*  I will write in here again; until then, this is Jenna Aurora Doucet signing off!  Bye for now!

~Love, Jenna Aurora.  :)
