Hello!  It's me, Trevor Wayne Cole!  Remember me?  If not, let me refresh your memory, so you don't think a complete stranger is writing here.  LOL  Here goes:

I am ten years old.  I live in Nashville, Tennessee, with my family.  I also have a dog, who acts as my eyes.  Y'see, I'm blind.  Have been practically since birth:  got too much oxygen, and it destroyed my eyes to the point to where I can only see shadows if the light is  bright enough.  It's a pain, but maybe it's a blessing in disquise:  that way, I don't have to see all the ugly things in this world.

I want to be a singer. I sing gospel music.  I think gospel music is the best music in the world.  I have been singing since I was like four or so, but didn't really get serious about it until I was six.  I've sung at the Grand Ole Opry, at Nashville's annual Fourth of July Competition, and even tried out for America's Got Talent.  Didn't make it though, much to my disappointment; I tried so hard!!

In a few weeks, like the day after Labor Day, school starts up again.  I can't wait; I like summer vacation, but let's face it:  I'm more than ready to do homework or hit the books, let alone, see my friends again; I miss it all!  I've always loved school.

School has always been easy for me, even with being blind.  I take notes by taping what the teachers say, then typing them out on my Braille typewriter for future reference; that way I have 'em handy if I have to study for a test or something.  Or I use my special computer.

I am very smart.  I get straight A's in all my classes.  That's one of the incentives to being able to sing on stage:  it's my reward for doing well in school.  If I do well in school, I can perform; if not, then I have to wait until I bring my grades back up. Pure and simple.  It's the rules.

In a few weeks, like right before Labor Day, we are going to the Smoky Mountains for the weekend, for a camping trip, me, my siblings, and my parents.  Oh, and the dog goes too.  He has to; the dog acts as my eyes.  LOL  I have to be able to get around, so there you go.  LOL

I can't wait; I love to camp!!  Camping is one of my very favorite things in the world to do!

Well, mom is calling me to set the table, so we can eat before church; I have to go now.  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Trevor Wayne saying so long!  Bye!
