Gabrielo Bustamente updates us on what has been going on in his world. He has arthrogryposis, which causes him to get around on crutches, but even that has never stopped him from achieving his dreams.

Hola, compadres!  Como esta usted?

Hey, homies!  It's your main man, Gabrielo Bustamente (aka "Bust A Move").  Yeah, I still be here.  Still kickin' a**, still in the groove.  Yeah, man, my life is smooooooooooooooth!  :)

Still dancin', shakin' things up.  As you know, I love to dance, break dancin' bein' my main bag.  Seems typical, but not so much, especially in my case.  For if you were to see me, you'd see I'm on crutches.  Yeah, been like this ever since I can remember.  Born with this disease that left me partially paralyzed, hard to get around easily, but even that's never stopped me.  It was hard at first, very hard, but I learned to dance, even on crutches!

I am in high school now (or will be in a few weeks); not so nervous because more people know me, especially since I've been featured on the local newspaper on on local television.  Even met my hero, LazyLegz, who was on AGT a few years ago with his crew; guy has what I have, and he set the world ablaze with his phenominal dance skillz.  That was awesome!!  (I still have his autograph and the piccy; have both on my bedroom wall of my crib.)

I think I made an impact on people.  Which is a good thing, really.

And this fall, when school starts up back again, they're implimenting this program called "Bridges To Change", which is a program where kids with disabilities are mixed in with the regular kids; it's supposed to teach the nondisabled kids what we disabled kids face every day of our lives, and it's supposed to be beneficial for all.

I can handle that.

Too many times, in the past, people have gotten impatient with me because I'm slower than they are, and they think 'cause my body's crippled, then my mind must be, too.

Nothing can be further from the truth.

Just because I'm disabled doesn't mean my brain is, too.  I happen to be smart.  Very smart.  Just ask my familia.  They say I'm smart, sometimes too smart for my own good.  LOL  (Still tryin' to figure that one out, to see if it's a good thing or a bad thing.  LOLOLOLOL)

Another big thing in my life now is I go to church.  I have been going to church for over one year now; I accepted Christ into my heart, and my life's been changed, radically changed.  I'm not the same person I was; people see this in me, and it's awesome!  Christ has been doing a wonderful work in me, and I'm so happy now I feel I can fly!!

My family's seen this change in me, and we've been working really hard to get along better.  I'm a lot happier than I was, and I give all the credit to the Big Guy Upstairs.  He's the one who's gotten me this far; I'm not about to look back!  It's exciting to think He has more for me; I want to be around long enough to see what that is!  :)

Who knows what God can do with my dancin' skillz?  I could be a perfect witness to teens, especially those who live with disabilities!

Well, it's late, after midnight, so I'm going to hit the sheets, go off to dreamland.  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is your homeboy, Gabe ("Bustamove") Bustamunte breakin' on outta here!  Take care, and may God bless you as much as He's been blessin' me as of late; fact is, He's been blessin' my socks off!

~Love, your friend, Gabrielo.  :)

Gabrielo, "...because I'm disable doesn't mean my brain is too..." you wouldn't believe how many not disabled jerks around have no brains at all! LOL

I am honored by the dedication Bridge to Change is only a figment of my imagination, but I am wanting to gather the courage to share this ideas with Highschool kids around the area and in areas around the country.
