Hello! Tippie D. Young here. Thought I would continue with my story.
I am doing a little better; however, I still can't work until the doctor gives me the okay; I am still under his care for a while. Had major stomach surgery, then complications set in, and I face even more surgery in the future. It's really a pain not being able to be at work with the children!
I work at a church. I work at Christ Community Assembly of God Church, which is a dynamic, spirit-filled, Bible-believing church; all faiths are welcome to visit. I am a member there; have been one for the past two years. It has grown by leaps and bounds since Pastor Bilkey came; we have something like over 2,500 congregants now who are regulars. It's really been awesome to see how much our church has exploded!
I have made many wonderful friends there; I am indeed blessed. I have seen the love of Christ unfold in ways that I cannot even beGIN to imagine. When I was in the hospital, every day I had visitors stop by; if they couldn't come to see me, they kept a constant chain of prayer going. I honestly think that it was their prayers (plus the Lord's grace and mercy) that got me through the worst time during my illness/surgery.
My husband, Kirkland, has been phenominal with the boys, Kirkland, Jr., and Korey, who are eight and three. They know that their mommy has been sick; they've been trying their hardest to be good, which I appreciate more than they will ever realize. Kirk has taken a leave of absence from his job, just so he could take care of me and the children while I continue to recuperate.
Money has gotten tight since Kirkland left his job, but God provides. Even when we think He isn't even listening, He always seems to pull a miracle out of His heavenly realm, and we end up getting blessed. Very much so.
Like last week, Sister Ruth Halburten, one of the senior ladies, came over, where she gave me an envelope. She said she felt led by the Lord to give this to me, so she did. She then left, wishing me many blessings. When I opened up the envelope, there were five crisp, brand-new one-hundred dollar bills. I could have cried; I was so shocked at her generosity!
Now we have extra food in the house; we don't have to worry about starving to death!
And on Sunday, Louisiana Sandusky called; she came over later to bring me some of her wonderful Cajun cookin'. She also gave me $20.00, told me to go out to eat on her and to enjoy ourselves.
We might end up doing this on Friday or Saturday, depending on how strong (or well) I'm feeling. While I am feeling a lot better since I got out of the hospital, I still have a ways to go in my recovery, and food still doesn't taste all that good; it's all I can do to eat. It's no wonder I've lost so much in the way of weight!
Who knows what will happen today? It seems hardly a day goes by when one of the church staff (or members) call or drop by to see how I am doing or if I need anything. Or they bring me something I was not expecting, like with the Cajun gumbo from Louisiana Sandusky or the $500 from Sister Halburten!
Well, I have to go; have a doctor's appointment at 1 p.m. today; I see Dr. Jagadish, who has been my main physician since I got so sick. Just a regular checkup, to make sure things are going well, which they seem to be at the current time. I pray this continues. I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Tippie Young saying so long! Just keep those prayers coming; I really appreciate them so much! God bless and thank you in advance!
~Love, your friend, Tippie D. Young. :D
