Dear Journal~
Hullo! It's your friend, Rosamunde Christine Alcorn of London, England! Thought an update was way overdue, so here goes.
Angus, my husband of 20 years, is back at work; hasn't had any problems since having appendicitis several years back, thank goodness. The children (Brighton, Peter, and Alastaire) are busy with soccer; they have soccer tourneys every weekend, it seems like; we're always on the go, going from one game to another. It's madness! As for Millicent, our only daughter, she's looking forward to school; she will soon be in the fourth grade. Funny, it seems like only yesterday when they were all so little!
I am busy, trying to keep the house in order. Not easy to do with four active children! I thank God for my neighbour, Mary, who will watch them in a pinch; she is very reliable; I can count on her for nearly everything!
We are in the throes of adopting another child, a girl from Egypt, in Africa. Her name is Mechele, but we will probably change her name to Chloe or Hannah, something much easier to say (let alone, spell!). We are excited; this will be our second girl, and Millicent is looking forward to having another girl around the place. We have been working on this for the past several months; we are waiting to see if we have been approved; if so, then we wait until the counsulate over there in Egypt clears the way for her to come to England, where she will then be ours, forever and ever!
Michele is disabled; she walks on a pair of crutches and wears braces on her legs. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was less than two years old. She's now five. She is beautiful! We cannot wait until she is here; she can't come soon enough, in my humble opinion!
Well, the phone is ringing, and Millie is screaming that the dog got out again. I tell you, life is never dull around here! I will write again as soon as I find out more about Mechele, and whether she is ours or not. Pray that the adoption goes through, and pray that she gets here soon! We would greatly apprecaite it! Thanks in advance!
