Bill Sandusky is not amused to find out that he is a hurricane this year. There is a Hurricane Bill churning in the Atlantic Ocean as of this writing. His co-workers keep calling him "Hurricane Bill", much to his disdain.

If I hear one more crack about "Hurricane Bill", I am going to turn into a hurricane (think Katrina) and storm surge all over my co-workers!!

There is a hurricane churning off the eastern coast of the United States (heading north/northwest at 20 m.p.h.); it is currently a Category 2 on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale, and it has sustained winds of 105 m.p.h., making it a rather powerful storm.  It may clip the coast of Maine before moving northeast towards the British Isles sometime next week.

As with any hurricane, one never exactly knows where it will hit; this is the latest projected course from the National Hurricane Center out of Miami, Florida.

Ever since tropical storm Bill strengthened into hurricane mode, my family and my co-workers at Wal*Mart have been ragging me, calling me a hurricane.  They say things like when I come into the area, they can feel the winds pick up to incredible force; they say it's my mouth, as I'm full of hot air. Nice.  Thanks, guys, for your support!!

I'll remember that when I write you out of my will!  LOL

I love you, honey!  (This being directed to my sweet little Cajun wife.)

I mean, it's bad enough I am nearly 7' tall and get stared at for that, never mind constantly asked one of two questions:

1.)  "How tall are you?" (And to go along with that, "Do you play basketball?")

2.) "Would you get that off the top shelf?  I can't reach it!"  "I'm too short!", etc., etc.

Now, really!  I walk with crutches.  How the heck (as my wife would say) am I going to play basketball when I'm on crutches????

And number two:  What am I?  The automatic "getter-of-things-off-of-the-top-shelf" man??

*Sighhhh*

Just a couple of pet peeves I face.  And now this nonsense with Hurricane Bill from my family and co-workers ...  it's enough to make me want to go "Cat-5" and "go Katrina" all over their happy little rumps!!

Now you want to talk "hurricane"?  That is either my sweet little wife without her coffee or any one trying to wake up Ronee'.  Ronee' is so hard to wake up, and anyone had better be prepared for her wrath if she is awakened before she is ready to get up.

That is a cat-10 storm, my friends!  Pure fury!

Well, gonna let you go.  Hurricane Ronee' is calling; she can't find her nightgown.  She's bellowin' like a stuck cow.  I better go before there is debris strewn all over; it's not a pretty picture when Ronee' is getting ready to blow!  LOL  I will write in here again; until later, this is (Hurricane) Bill saying so long!  Good night!

*"Hurricane" Bill.  *rolling eyes*  :/

I had to laugh. The Northridge earthquake occurred on my dad's birthday so we always called it Ernie's Quake. Patrick

An interesting write, Karen, and a good reminder for us all to start preparing for those storms.

In number 1, I have did that once, asked a tall person if he plays basketball, and the look and curt shake of the head made me realize I must never do it again.
