Howdy, y'all!  It's me, Goon!

Hope this finds y'all well; me, I couldn't be any better!  It also helps that I finally heard from my homeboy, Shawn, after weeks of not knowing where he is!

Shawn is now in Alabama, with a family that hopes one day to adopt him.  He is still worried about his younger sisters Quaneesha and Q'u'irionka, but hopefully, soon, they will be reunited, and they can be adopted together as one sibling-group.  That would be awesome if that were to happen!!

He wrote to me last week; I already responded, am now waiting to hear from him a second time.  When I got his first letter, I cried, I literally cried!!

I am now in the throes of football practice.  We had our first one last week; we face our second one this week (Friday).  We need a lot of work, but I think our team might have a shot at the championships if we keep on working together and do the right thing, so Coach doesn't blow a gasket at us.  LOL

School starts up next week; I am kinda glad.  I am sick of summer vacation; I'm more than ready to see my friends again!!  I also can't wait to hit the books; there's something about the smell of new supplies, new books, that make the first days of school worth it! :)

We might be moving ourselves sometime next year; my mom got a lucrative job offer in Chicago.  She might take it; anything's better than where we are at now!  I am not looking forward to moving, but if it will make our lives better, then I'm all for it!!

The weather here is hotter-n-hell-hot.  The sun can be brutal this time of year; sure am glad the days are growing shorter and the sun is setting sooner!  The nights are actually quite comfortable; there's a definite chill in the air; sure signs that fall is coming upon us faster than we may think.  Good; I love fall; always have, always will!

It's worse when I have my football gear on.  Then I'm ready to melt, pull a Wicked Witch of the West stunt ("I'm melting, I'm melting!!  What a world, what a world!!")!  LOL  I guess this is one reason I hate summer:  I absolutely HATE to sweat!!

(Why can't they have football practice in the middle of winter or inside????)

Well, gotta run.  Have a doctor's appointment at nine; annual physical, to make sure I'm okay.  Don't need a doctor to tell me that:  I'm as healthy as a horse!  :)  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is "Goon" saying so long!  God bless you!
