A couple is counting the days until their son, who has special-needs, joins them from South Korea.
We have been on this journey for years, it seems like; it's hard to believe that soon, very soon, our child, the one we have been waiting for, will join us.
My name's Ted Nye. I live in Elkhardt, Indiana, with my wife, Sabrina, and our three children: Winston, who's 13, Tabbitha, who is 10, and the "baby" of the family, 6 year old Destinee (6).
We've since applied to adopt another child, a little four-year-old boy from South Korea. His name is Kim Il Park Soong, but we have decided that we will "Americanize" part of his name: we will call him Sebastian Kim Park Nye.
Little Sebastian is a child with special needs. He has spina bifida; he can walk, albeit with crutches and leg braces. Other than that, he is perfectly healthy. He is beautiful: thick, silken, jet-black hair with blue highlights. Dark brwon almond-shaped eyes. A sturdy build. A ready smile. He's perfect!!
We are not bothered by the fact that Sebastian is disabled: we've lived with it all our lives. You see, our middle child, Tabbitha, has cerebral palsy. She is in a wheelchair and cannot walk or talk, but she makes her needs and wants known. Tabbi is incredibly smart. She is a lot smarter than people give her credit for: they see a child in a wheelchair, unable to walk or talk, and make assumptions. They soon find out otherwise.
Our little charmer is absolutely incredible. We're blessed she's part of our lives!
So what if we have another child with a disability in our family? We are more than ready to welcome Sebastian into our hearts and home with open arms!
Hopefully soon we will hear something from our adoption caseworker. Until then, we wait. I don't know how long we can take; we are ready to have him join our family now!
Whoops! Phone's ringing. If it's another telemarketer ... what if it's the caseworker with news regarding Sebastian?!? Better answer it.
Fire some quick prayers to Heaven for us, okay? We could really use them! Thanks in advance!

I did read this one today and it always is great to read about those people who are so loving to take a child in that most could not even imagine. Your stories are always of the heart, I wish I had more time to read them, yet I wanted you to know that I stopped today. I'm working on getting more of them read. LadyJ
