Dear Journal~
Louie here. Am on break here at the hospital; I get off at 7/7:30 tonight, which is just two hours away from now. Can't wait; it's been a long, hard day!
Worked in the E.R. today. Had a multi-vehicle accident occur; ten people involved; most injuries minor, but several were serious enough to require admission, and one man was killed. It was a bad one; am still tired from it. Now the E.R. is quiet; pray it continues.
I am eating in the cafeteria; haven't heard my name being paged over the loudspeaker, so I guess that's a good thing. LOL Hope that continues; I've had my lunch interrupted far too many times, too many to count! Nothing is more aggravating; by the time I'm ready to clock off my schedule, I'm so hungry I could eat a horse, perhaps even an elephant! LOL
The family is well; they are busy with church activities: rehearsals/practices for "Heaven's Gates and Hell's Flames" (that's next month) twice a week, Bible study for the kids on Weds. nights, regular services on Sunday plus Sunday school, and choir practice. Seems we spend more time at church than at home! LOL
The weather here has been fairly calm: no storms, partly cloudy to mostly sunny, temps in the lower nineties to the middle eighties on the days it rains. Actually quite pleasant; seems that the heat is behind us for another year, thank the Lord!
I am ready for fall and winter; have to get the house ready for the holidays starting next month! Kids coming home you know; have to have the house intact before they come in! Want the place to look nice and welcoming!
One of the ladies I go to church with lost her daughter recently; she was only three years old. She had Nieman-Pick disease, which causes memory loss and other physical problems; it is fatal in children; most children who have it don't live beyond the age of five. It is sometimes referred to as "childhood Alzheimer's"; it is a horrible diease! I feel so bad for her; I can't imagine having to go through something so awful!
Or maybe I can: I lost a child to AIDS, and I lost one to crib death, as well as two to meningitis. I've also nearly lost several to accidents or severe illness numerous times; too numerous to count; there's nothing more heartbreaking than a parent outliving their child! It's one of the worst things they can ever face in life!
The funeral for little Kaysa Marisse Beausoleil is on Monday; we are going to have a "going home celebration" for her, to celebrate her life. I have to be there because the choir will be singing during the service.
Please keep the family in your prayers; they can use all the prayers they can get! I (and they) would graetly appreciate it!
Well, it's time for me to go; I am being paged to the E.R. I will write in here again soon; until then, take care, and may God bless you always! I'll talk to you another time!
~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Louie May. :)
