My name is Gemini In Ai Lee Ranessa Sandusky. I am 10 years old, and I have been with my adoptive family since I was just 3 years old.

I was born in Japan, near the city of Tokyo. I don't remember much about my life in Japan; but I DO remember how crowded Tokyo was, and I vaguely remember my mother and father. I don't know if I had any brothers or sisters; but I definitely do now!

I am quite tall, but I am thin; and I have long, jet-black hair that I usually wear loose (unless I am in dance, gymnastics, or skating class; I then wear my hair up in a bun or in a ponytail). My eyes are slanted, and they are gold; and my skin is olive-yellow in appearance. I have a deep "cleft" in my chin, and I have dimples in my cheeks. People say that I am quite pretty.

My family is comprised of my mother and dad, and my brothers and sisters; like me, my brothers and sisters are adopted. We kids range in age from 2 on up to 21 years in age; and most of the kids have disabilities (including myself, although my disability isn't that very easily seen; I have a "hidden disability"; I have epilepsy, and because of it I sometimes have convulsions. I take medication to help control these convulsions, so I don't have so many). Some aren't disabled, but most of the kids are.

My grandfather and grandmother also live with us; they are mom's parents, and they are very nice. Both are relatively young, but they are still grandparents. They had 5 girls (including mommy), and all of the girls had kids. Then their kids grew up and got married and had kids, making them grandparents. (My mom and dad are grandparents themselves; my oldest sister, Lightning, has kids of her own, two boys and a girl. So my grandma and grandpa would be their GREAT grandparents.)

I am like a lot of typical pre-teens: I love sports (my bag is gymnastics; I want to be in the Olympics when I am older), I love music (all kinds, really, but my favorite is country music), shopping with my friends at the local mall, and just gabbing on the phone. I may have a disability, but I am more normal than you may think, even though you cannot see my disability; still, it IS there.

My hobbies and interests are varied: gymnastics, dance, shopping, listening to music, watching tv on the weekends, spending time with my friends or my family, and trying to make others happy. I also like going to the local nursing homes or hospitals and dancing for the patients or residents and bringing a smile to their faces. I also love learning and reading about my Japanese heritage; and I think it is because of this heritage that I have grown to love Japanese art, food, and culture. I have several Japanese kimonos and dolls in my bedroom, and I still have several of the outfits I wore when I still lived in Japan.

Someday, I hope to visit Japan again.

And, like a lot of girls, I love colors, especially the colors pink, red, or purple. I also love horses, and I love books about horses.
I used to have a horse, myself, but we had to sell her because some of the kids have allergies, and her dander only bothered their allergies. I was so mad and so heartbroken when that happened; but then I decided that my sisters' allergies were more important, and I wanted to see them well and happy, not sick and miserable; so maybe, in the end, it was worth it.

But I still miss my horse. My horse's name was "Blaze", and she was cinnamon-colored with liquid dark eyes and a black mane and tail. She was really pretty, and she was oh, so gentle and friendly!! (I still have a picture of me and "Blaze" in my bedroom; it was taken when I was 7 years old. It sits on the dresser next to my bed.)
