Jaylene Jones here.
Thought I would update y'all on the status of my baby son, Roderick Kendall, who is in a coma here at Vandy (Vanderbilt) Children's Hospital.
I'm afraid things remain about the same. No real change in his overall condition. Roderick continues to exhibit abnormal signs of posturing, which indicates the possibility of brain damage. No response from painful stimuli, not even deep ones. He lies there, in a sea of tubes and wires, unaware of what's happened to him or why he is even here.
It's very discouraging.
What's even worse is that I thought I found a future father in TaShawn Kendall Weeks. Instead, I found a monster in sheep's clothing. In the beginning, he was all sweet and lovey-dovey; when the baby was born, however, his true personality started showing itself.
He hated children, especially babies. Babies drove him crazy, especially when they cried or fussed. Well, if he was that much against babies, then why the fuck did he even get me pregnant so I could have his son, only to end up hurting him in the process?
Why I even hooked up with this loser, I'll never know. Now, because of that rat, my baby son continues to fight for his life.
I should have done more to protect Roderick from him. Now I feel like I may never get that chance, especially if he dies or ends up severely brain damaged. And right now, that looks like a real possibility.
I feel as though I have failed my son. Because of my stupidity, his life's in danger; there isn't a god**** thing I can do about it except pray or hope for a miracle. Right now, though, things don't look all that promising.
I don't know what I am going to do if Roddy ends up severely brain-damaged (it should be called brain-damnaged!!): I don't think I could provide care to a child who would be unable to do anything for himself except lie there, shit his diapers, cry, or wait for someone to feed him (probably by way of a tube in his nose or belly), or dress him, make sure he's clean, happy, or comfortable!
What kind of life would that be for a child? That is no life; the child would be better off being dead!!
I don't want my son to die; then again, I don't want him ending up as a vegetable either! What kind of choice is that: dead or severely handicapped for the rest of his life?? My son deserves far better; I tell you, life sure sucks!!
I will keep you up to date on Roderick's condition as things develop; stay tuned! In the meantime, even though I am pissed off at God right now, a few prayers to Heaven wouldn't hurt! I could use a miracle about now! Thank you in advance!
~Sincerely, Jaylene Jones, Roddy's mom. :( *tears*
