Jaylene Jones continues to watch over her little baby son, who remains in a coma in a hospital.

Jaylene Jones here.

I'm afraid things with my son, Roderick Kendall, remain about the same.  No real change in his overall condition; it's very discouraging.

I have since talked to the police about pressing charges against my (now ex) boyfriend, TaShawn Kendall; he is the one who did this to my baby.  And right now, I am so angry I can hardly see straight; because of him, my son might end up damaged for the rest of his life.

He is the one who did this.

And what should happen if Roderick dies?  Then he'd probably be charged with murder; he should be; he's nothing but a lying, conniving, pitbull who deserves all that he's done to my child!  He's lower than a snake!

I still blame myself for hooking up with this loser.  I don't know what I was thinking when I started staying with him; all was well until my son was born; then his true nature emerged.  And it wasn't pretty!

When he shook my son to the point of unconsciousness, I thought I was going to go mad.  I actually thought he'd killed him.  Then I saw him (the baby) gasping for air and seizing; it scared me, but it assured me that he was alive.  Sick, yes, but alive.

Now my baby fights for his life, and I haven't left his bedside except maybe to go grab a bite to eat, take a nap, or go to the bathroom; any other time, I've been camped out at his bedside, watching the squiggling lines on the monitors and hearing their noises and praying desperate prayers to the angels to help make him better.

Doctors still don't know if he's going to ever wake up again.  If he does, they say he is going to be damaged.  I don't want to know that; however, if that ends up being the case, I could have TaShawn charged with child abuse; if the baby dies, then I'm having TaShawn charged with murder of my child.

Either way, TaShawn is going to pay for what he's done, not only to my son, but also to me (emotional abuse, PSTD).  I haven't been able to sleep much since this happened, and I'm past the point of exhaustion!

Well, I am going to try to get some sleep, so I will write in here again in a few days, with another update.  If there's any change in Roddy's condition, the doctors will let me know, and I will do the same.  Until then, this is Jaylene Jones signing off!  Keep me in your prayers; I could really use a miracle about now!

Thanks in advance!

~Jaylene.  :(

Any many who harms a child in that way should be hung by their you know what. Or maybe hook him up to an apparatus that shakes him until his brain is no longer attached to his skull and let him live the rest of his life that way. And this is being said by a woman who is anti-violence. The poor woman; what torture she herself must be going through. My prayers are with her - I'm assuming this is a true story.
You really touched me with this write Karla.

If mothers only understood the potential risk of injury or death to their children when they "hook-up" with someone of questionable character. The website: http://www.childwelfare.gov/index.cfm provides a wealth of info about child abuse and how to get help before tragedy occurs.

This is a much needed message, Karen, and well written.

In reality, many women are so enmeshed with the idea that they MUST have a man in their lives that even when he treats them and their kids in a brutal fashion they stay with him, endangering themselves and their kids every day. Excellent write. Hugs, J'nia
