Good God!! I just realized something: I haven't written in here in nearly a month!! Oopsie! Time got away from me; please forgive me for being such an airhead! LOL
Sage here. Sage McDermott. I am doing fantastic!! Seems ever since Heaven's Gates and Hell's Flames, my life has done a complete turnaround! It's been nothing short of miraculous!
Kids are still coming up to me, saying how much of an impact the play's made on them. I'm talking about kids who used to abuse me verbally or threaten me with violence because I wouldn't join up with their merry band of witches or warlocks. Now they've found the light and have gone through a radical change.
It's incredible what God can do!!
Now we are starting to concentrate on our Christmas Cantata, which is going to be held the week before Christmas. I will be singing in the choir; it's the first time I've done anything like this. I'm scared; I've never sang in front of people before!!
I know the Lord will get me through it if I just trust in Him and believe!
Now our school has an after school program for Christian teens. Every Friday we have Bible study and prayer around the flagpole ("See Ya At The Pole"; I believe it was started in Burleson, Texas; it's since gone national). It's really cool how we lift the needs of other teens, other people, to God; we've already seen some answers to prayer like you wouldn't even believe!!
My friend, Derbi Wilson, is the one who got me involved in this project; I owe her (and of course God) a lot of thanks!! :)
The weather here in Colorado is turning colder; there's already been snow forecast for areas of the Rockies this weekend. Which means the ski areas will start their season earlier than normal this yaer. Good. I love to ski; always have, always will! To me, there's nothing more exhilerating than schussing down the side of a mountain!
I am also helping out at the school with the handicapped kids a couple times a week. I help them with their reading, writing, spelling, math, computer skills. I get so much joy in seeing their faces light up when they finally understand something; besides, I've since found out that kids with special needs are just like us, except they were born with or developed disabilities later in life.
People shouldn't judge them based on appearances, or whether they use wheelchairs, crutches, or wear braces on their legs, or if they can't see, hear, talk. They should learn to overlook the obvious and see the real person inside these kids.
I know I used to judge some kids because they were mentally retarded (disabled); now I see them as human beings who only need friends, acceptance, respect, and a chance to succeed in life. I thought them as being stupid; now I know that they are very bright in their own way; they just have a different way of doing things or learning.
Or those who are physically disabled. They may get around differntly; just because their bodies don't work like mine, that doesn't mean they are incapable of not doing anything they want to do. They just might surprise you if you only allow them the opportunity to show their stuff.
It's really cool how these kids look forward to being friends with the "normal" kids; we also learn about being judgemental and learn about acceptance, pride, and courage. These kids are some of the bravest kids I have ever known!
Well, I have to go. I have to help Miguel Ortiz with his grammar; he is learning English, and his spelling is still quite bad. I know he tries his best; it's just that English is still pretty hard for him; he's used to talking in his native Spanish. (He came to America last year from Mexico; his parents wanted a better opportunity, and their six kids came with them, to start a new life.)
I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Sage saying so long! God bless you always; He's certainly doing that in my life!!
~Love ya!
