I wish everyone could have an Uncle Fat-Face in their family.

My name is Giovanni Jose' Miguel Ortiz-Romano.  Yo vivo en El Paso, Tejas, con mi familia:  mi madre, mi padre, mi hermanos y hermanas, mi abuelita y abuelo, y mi tio.  (For you who don't speak or understand Spanish, I said I live in El Paso, Texas, with my family:  my mother, my father, my brothers and sisters, my grandma and grandpa, and my uncle.)

I am 11 years old.  I am in the fifth grade at mi escuela (school); so far, I've made good grades.  My familia, they are very proud of me.  I am proud of me, too.

My Uncle Fat-Face is my favorite uncle.  I say this because he has always done wonderful things with our family.  He's taken us on surprise trips to Mexico to see distant relatives; he even took us on a cruise once to Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel for a fun five day vacation.  It was so fun being on that big ship!!

He is very rich; he struck oil about ten years ago in Texas.  This is when we were living in Mexico; I came to Texas when I was about two, so I really don't remember this part.  I learned about this part from mi madre.  He is her brother.  He was living in a mansion with his wife, but then his esposa died of cancer.  He became very sad, so madre had him move in with us.  It's been a huge change for all of us; eventually we got used to it, and he's now his happy self again.  He still misses his wife on holidays or on her birthday, but we make sure we try to help him when he es muy triste (is very sad).

Last year for Christmas he got me a computer system as well as a game system.  I about died; I was hoping for something like that!   This is the kind of thing he does; you never know what he is going to do.  Madre and padre are always worried that he is going to run out of dolores (dollars), but he just laughs it off; he says that he wants to make our lives better, so he takes care of us in the best way he can.

We call Uncle Francisco "Fat-Face" because he has a fat face.  Simple.  He has fat cheeks and a huge double chin.  He's as round as he is tall.  LOL  His personality is as big as he is, at times, even more so, especially when he pulls his surprises on us.  One never knows what Uncle Fat-Face will do; that's what makes having him in our familia so very special and fun!!

I love having Uncle Fat-Face here because with him around, we never have to worry about a thing.  We always seem to have money to pay for our bills or take care of our needs.  It's kind of nice having a rich uncle because now I can wear nice clothes to school, and the other kids no longer make fun of me.  I now have lots of frineds; it's made a world of difference.

And I owe it all to Uncle Fat-Face.  He's the best uncle I've ever had!!!!

I wish everyone could meet my uncle.  He's definitely my favorite relative in my book!!  :)
