Lawsy, forgive me for not writing in so long!  I didn't realize that September/October creeped up on me like this!  LOL

I have an excuse:  my age.  LOL

Allowed to forget now and then.  LOL

I am happy to say I didn't die in that nursing home (otherwise I wouldn't be writing now, would I??  LOL).  I am very much alive!  A little slower, but I am coming back!

Now using a walker; hopefully I will ditch it soon and use a cane.  I hate this thing; it makes me look like a frail old lady!  And frail is something I'm not!!  Ask my Garfield or my kids!  They know me like a book!  LOL

I did make it to church last weekend.  What a wonderful weekend it was, too.  "Heaven's Gates and Hell's Flames" was going on; over 100 souls added to the Kingdom of Heaven.  It was a most moving experience!  The cast did a marvelous job, as did the choir, who sang before the production.  They had it go on for three consecutive nights; many people's souls were challenged by the Message.

Everyone was so happy to see me.  Well, I was happy to see them, too!  I really missed everyone!!  (A lot of my church family did see me at the nursing home; however, it's not the same as being in church.)

We now have the Fall Festival coming upon us like gangbusters.  In just a few weeks our church will be a beehive of activity (and even before), as people get the grounds ready with games, rides for the kiddies, the stages set up for the musical entertainment, and so forth.  We have so much soda pop and candy sitting in the foyer it looks like a Hallowe'en factory threw up, right in the middle of our church!  LOL

I didn't tell you I have a new pet:  my darling husband got me a Pomeranian!  It is sooo cute!  It is a little bigger than a minute, with a foxlike face, ears that stick straight up like tiny flags, and reddish-gold, dense fur that makes it look like a powder puff with legs (and a head!).  We named it "Sweetie-Girl".  She goes with us everywhere; we just love her!!

And for being so tiny, she makes a terrific watch dog!  You know people ain't gonna mess with me when "Sweetie" is in town; she has a very loud, piercing, high-pitched bark.  (I swear the dog thinks it's part pitbull; she really has an attitude at times!  LOL)

And guess what else my darling Gar did to surprise me?  In the spring, we are taking a cruise to Alaska, as a way of celebrating our fifty-first wedding anniversary!!  We will be going for two weeks!  We'll be going on the Disney Cruise Lines; they now have cruises to Alaska.  So we get to pal around with Mickey, Minnie, Donnald Duck, Goofy, and all the other Disney stars!  It is going to be great; the whole family is going:  me, my husband, our kids, and our ten grandchildren!!

I swear he must have played the lottery and hit gold!!  Where else would he get all of this extra money all of a sudden??  LOL

Speaking of grandchildren, mine are doing great!  Brag on 'em all of the time.  Cassidy is doing well in her sports, Austin and Braxton are graduating from high school next year (they're twins), Shayla is recovering well from her surgery she had on her legs (she has CP), Giovanni won another award for his singing abilities, Rishelle and Raylene are going on a missions trip to Australia next year (after our Alaskan cruise), Heather got straight A's on her last report card, Ophelia lost another baby tooth, and our youngest grandbaby, Ric, will be celebrating his first birthday next month.  We plan on having a huge bash for him, invite all the neighbors (and family, of course!).  (We call little Ric "Rickey".)

My kids are raisin' 'em right.  They are some of the best behaved, sweetest kids y'all have ever wanted to meet!  I just love 'em to pieces!!  Yup, God blessed me good with 'em!!

I am indeed a very blessed lady!!  Life couldn't be any better than it is right now (though I move slower now, thanks in part to my hip)!

Well, Gar is up; might as well toddle into the kitchen and get his coffee/breakfast on.  I will also have him get the morning paper, so he can catch up on the news; he always has to know what's going on, when I'd rather not know:  the news is horrible, horrible, horrible!!  It's really depressing; I fear for our country now that that Obama guy is runnin' the show....
