Shawn Perkins here. Thought I'd write in here with another update.
Still here in Decatur, Alabama, with my foster family, the Greenes. I'm getting used to them; they're not too bad except two of the teen kids; they have attitudes that are worse than mine! LOL They make me look like a total sweetheart! LOL Wow, they're horrible; I can't stand them at times!!
I am still wondering about my sisters, Q'uiri'onka and QuaNeesha: haven't seen them for two months; I wonder where they are or if they've been adopted or are happy. I wish we could be adopted together and be a family again!
This isn't a way for a kid to live: separated from those they love so much!!
I hate the weather here in Alabama: it's October; however, it feels more like late summer (August). Just yesterday the high was 88 degrees with a million percent humidity! It was awful! I wanted to go swimming, but the public pools are now closed, plus with the swine flu scare, people don't want to take any chances, so we kids, more or less, stay inside most of the time.
I go to school, but I see people wearing masks; they look like surgeons at a hospital. It's very freaky, not to mention, scary! I don't want that swine flu; it sounds like serious business! And it's killed nearly 80 kids across the nation!
I am coping as best as I can with my new family, but I miss my friends back home. I miss Goon Perkins most of all; I have written to him but he hasn't written back. I hope he doesn't have the swine flu! I pray he's okay!
My foster brother, Gideon, is in the hospital as I write this: he's having more surgery on his legs; he will have that done tomorrow. I hope and pray it goes well and that it helps him walk better once he heals!
(I think he has spina bifida or something to that effect.)
Well, I hear my foster-momma calling us kids for breakfast, so I will go. We will then go to church; we go to church every Sunday. I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Shawn P. saying so long! Pray I get to see Q'uri'onka and QuaNeesha again; I really miss them bad! Thanks!
