If there ever was a person whom I admire for their faith, it would have to be my father.
My father's name is William, and he was raised in the Pentecostal church, ever since he was small. He grew up hearing about the Lord Jesus Christ and His Gift of Salvation from attending church services; and when he was seven, he went up to the altar and accepted Jesus Christ into his life.
Ever since, he has been on fire for the Lord; and even after he married my mom (who was, by the way, Catholic; she was not saved), he never stopped praying for her. He has always made time for prayer and devotions; and he has always gone to the local Pentecostal Church nearest us (Christ Community Asssembly of God).
Daddy always told us about Jesus; ever since we joined the family he told us about Jesus and His Love for us; and he always said how man had sinned and Jesus had died because of our sins and because He loved us THAT much. But the thing is, we always went to maman's church (St. Joseph's). Maman just wasn't into that "Pentecostal thing" (as she put it; she was used to the Catholic way of doing things).
But then Johnny and Ronee' accepted Jesus; and they started going to church with daddy; and they enjoyed it just as much as he did.
That was when we saw that play, "Heaven's Gates and Hell's Flames."
And that was the day I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour (as did maman).
Eventually, the others followed suit.
Now we are a Christian family, and we are excited at learning more about Jesus and His Wonderful Ways; and, like daddy, we are now "on fire". We can't wait to tell others about Jesus; and we are more determined to grow to be more like Him in our faith.
We all owe our deepest thanks for our Salvation to Jesus first and foremost; but we also owe our deepest thanks for our daddy, because if it were not for him, we wouldn't have known about Jesus in the first place, and we wouldn't have seen that play that changed our lives (and hearts) forever.
So, daddy, this is for you. We are eternally grateful that you told us about Jesus because if it weren't for you we would be going to hell; but you got us to go to church, and we wanted to have Jesus. Now we HAVE Jesus, and now because of it we are now on our way to Heaven.
