A story about a man who abuses his wife
and children without regret

This is about a couple, Ron and Faye, and their two sons

Lee and Chad who live in Asheboro, TN.

She was one of those abused women who felt like she had to

keep quiet or her husband would kill her.  He had actually

threatened her if she did tell anyone about his abusing her.

She had little money and she had talked to her mother and only

explained a little of the details and she wanted to know if she and

her sons could come there until they found somewhere else.  Her

mother, with tears in her eyes told her “of course she could come

home.”  Faye then talked to the woman next door, asking, “Would

you please drive us to the the outskirts of Murphy?”  Faye said “I

plan to leave before Ron has a chance to stop me.”  The

woman said, “I would love to help you and your sons, I’ve heard

some of the things your husband has said to you and your sons, dear.”

Faye offered her what little money she had for gas.  The woman would

hear nothing of it and apologized that she had not been friendlier.

“I have been praying that you would get away from that

b----d (pardon my French) you are married to for some time, when

I would hear him screaming at you from here, I should have done

more.”  Faye said, “this is where we need to go and thank you.”

She got inside and started getting the boys ready for bed when the

phone rang, without thinking she answered, and Ron told her to

be ready he was coming to get them and she better be ready.

She started crying and putting clothes back into her small bag she

had brought with her. Her mom asked, “what are you doing?  Faye

told her what he had said. She went and woke up her husband,

Tom and explained a little of what was going on with Ron and Faye.

He got up and hugged his daughter and went to meet Ron when he

got there.  Ron told Tom, “just get out of the way I am getting

my family and taking them home.”   Tom told him, “You are not taking

them anywhere, if you want to beat up on someone get you

a punching bag.”  The sheriff drove up then and Tom told Jesse,

“Ron is trespassing and I want to press charges.” You see, Sheriff

Jesse was Tom’s older brother.  Jesse told them to come to the

office tomorrow and fill out all the paperwork, taking Ron with him.

To be continued …

Standing On My Knees by Pinkstone

I met Jerome on a busy city street in Baltimore, Maryland, when he was forty-five years old. On that particular day, I was out and about, enjoying a much-needed day off from work. I wanted to purchase a sukiyaki sub. I parked my car in an area of
