A little girl in Kenya is given a new lease on life when kind missionaries give her a pair of crutches after spending her life scrabbling on the ground in order to get around. (The child was born with withered legs.)

My name is Adia. I live in a small village here in Kenya, Africa. I am seven years old.
I was born with withered legs. They don't work; therefore, I can't walk. Or oculdn't until now.
Some people from America (missionaries) came with wheelchairs, crutches, and other things for children like me; they wanted us to have them, so we could have new life.
I got a pair of crutches. Purple ones. They are really something!! And they're mine, all mine!!
I had never stood up until the other day: I now feel like a giant! I am still getting used to trying to get around; it isn't easy, but I am determined! :)
It seems how different things look when I'm not crawling around on my hands and dragging myself in the dirt. I can now get around without dirtying myself all the more!
Seems that I have been given a second chance at life!!
Wait until my friends at my school see me standing up!! They are going to be so surprised!!!!
This is the best thing that's ever happened to me! I am so happy! God has given me a miracle!!
So many of us take the little things for granted, a great write, thank you for sharing, this reminds me of the work Joni and Friends does for those who can not otherwsie get the mobility equiptment they need! A great story, thank you for sharing

I remember how excited Addie was when she first got her crutches... she was never really able to use them, but she did walk for some time with a walker and special braces...
