If there is one thing I am really looking forward to, it's Christmas vacation! I am really getting sick and tired of school! I swear the teachers I have are sadists: they keep piling on the homework! It's beyond nuts!!
Put that on top of working at LackLuster (what I call Blockbuster). It's an okay job, as it pays the bills (and gives me extra money for Christmas shopping), but get this: they're open ON Christmas! And get this: I'm scheduled to work!! I am so mad I caould spit nails! I was planning on veggin' out in front of the fireplace and watch "A Christmas Story" about a million times!
The boss put it this way: if you don't show up that day, you're without a job. So he can fire my ass. I'm not working on Christmas Day, and that's that!!
Stevie thinks it's funny I have to work because he doesn't have to worry about that yet. He's too young; he's only like 12 years old, just a punk kid.
He's also very spoiled because of his stupid heart issues, and I can't get mad at him, or else he can get very sick in a hurry. So I'm left alone to boil in my anger, which only stresses me out worse!!
I also plan on seeing my girlfriend, Ronee' Reaux, and her family. I got her Christmas present: I got her Kaitlyn Ashley Maher's CD. She loves that kid; I don't know why, but she does. I'm not much into kid singers; I'd much rather listen to someone like Susan Boyle, who has a lot more experience (and years) on Kaitlyn. Now THAT'S talent!!
I hope she will like it; I also hope she will appreciate the trouble I went through to find it. Went just about all over town looking for it; finally found it at CDHeaven, on sale for $9.98, so I snatched it up like a shark after prey. So now she will have Kaitlyn Maher for Christmas (the CD, NOT Kaitlyn herself! LOL).
I also got her brother, Johnathon, a beautiful dark-brown sweater with white and powder-blue snowflakes on it. I just hope it won't swim on him; Johnny's awful' skinny! I had a much easier time getting his present than my girlfriend's!
Last Saturday, Nashville threw its annual Christmas Parade of Lights/Lighting of the Christmas Tree; they had fireworks, music, and much more. I went with some friends (not Ronee', just some other friends of mine from school: Mutt Axton, Torey Cade Rossing, Trask Douchet, WeeWee [William] Ogilvie, Quent Price, and Mitchell Canivares); we had a blast making fun of the dancers and stupid people dressed up in Santa Claus, reindeer, or other Christmas-type costumes. I don't know what they were thinking: Hallowe'en was almost two months ago; they should have dressed up then! LOL
The fireworks were only about ten minutes long, but wow, what an impression it made on our eyes and minds (not to mention, our ears)! Talk about a dazzling display of pyrotecnic wizardry!! I think that'd be cool: shooting off fireworks for a living! Bet they make some killer money doing that!!
In a few weeks our church is having their annual Christmas Cantata. I am not singing in it this year (getting over a bad cold; caught it on Thanksgiving night, and I've been honking like a Canada goose ever since); my voice is still pretty froggy. I know the choir director understands; the cold has really been going around, as has the flu (both the regular and the piggy [aka swine] flus). I will be so glad when cold/flu season is overwith; it's really been horrid this year, and it doesn't show any sign of letting up anytime soon!
The weather is chilly here; it's beginning to feel more like December. We may have some snow by next week, which would really put people in a Christmassey type mood. I know the lights are: speaking of Christmas lights, we are going to look at 'em tonight, for a few hours, me and my family. Well, Stevie is staying home, but at least I get to go. I know we will have a great time, and then go for hot chocolate and donuts afterwards. Yum!!
