"We're getting to the point to where we're ready to put our Ragdoll cat on Ebay!"

Katrina is excited: Christmas time's a comin'!

Dear Journal~

Katrina here.  Sorry if I haven't written.  Had a nasty case of swine flu that liked to have killed me; it was horrible!!  I am so glad I am over it.  It really knocked me for a loop!

Amazingly, Frank, Jr. never did get it, which was a huge answer to prayer.  Frank (Sr.) got a piece of it, but he was over it in a few days; as for me, it hung around me like a bad song.  LOL

I am excited:  Christmas time will soon be here.  In only 21 days, three weeks from today, as a matter of fact!  Yesterday Frank and I took Junior to see Santa Claus.  You might as well have thought that we took him to see the doctor for a shot.  He screamed.  He cried.  I am sure you could have heard him hollerin' clear to Mars, the way he was carrying on!  It was embarrassing!

Needless to say, his visit with the Jolly Old Elf was cut short, especially since Junior kicked ol' Santa right in the teeth.

I just pray and hope that Santa doesn't give my baby boy a lump of coal for Christmas!  :/

Oh!  Speaking of babies, I am pregnant!!  I wanted to wait a little longer, but nope!  I am two weeks pregnant!  So Junior will have a new brother or sister at this time next year!  I just hope that this pregnancy will go smoother than the last one did when I was pregnant with Junior!

Frank, as you can imagine, is thrilled to death!!  I am happy, too, but I would have liked to have waited another six months or so!  LOL

Opie, our little Ragdoll cat, has been banished to the utility room.  He tried to take down the Christmas tree twice the day after we put it up.  He managed to knock it down; we heard this big, loud "WHOOMPH!!"; when we went to see what had happened, there was the tree, lying on its side.  We were not amused!!  And then there was Opie's little cream-colored, heart-shaped face peeking in from beneath the branches, trying to act all innocent!  It was hard not to laugh!

Meanwhile, Aurora, our other kitty (our Norwegian Forest cat), sat in the corner, licking her paws and digging at her ears furiously.  She did look startled when the tree fell, but then she went right back to her bath.  LOL

We're getting to the point to where we're ready to put our Ragdoll cat on Ebay!

He's not bad ... he's just ... mischevious with a capital M!  LOL

Hey, I wonder:  is there a obedience school for cats?  Because I know one kittycat who can use some training!  LOL

Our house is about raedy for Christmas.  We have the tree up, as you know; we also have a huge lighted wreath on our door, and lights strewn on the roof and along the eaves of the house.  Really pretty.   We have blue, magenta, and white icicle lights.  We also have lights on our two huge pine trees in the front yard and along the driveway, so people can see where they're going when they come to visit.

We also have a huge Nativity scene in our livingroom; that's another reason Opie is banished to the utility room.  He tried to kidnap Baby Jesus; yesterday I caught him walking with the Holy Infant in his mouth.  He looked all innocent again.  *Sigh*  What am I ever going to do with that furry little beast????

I love Christmas, but I would love it better if a certain little Ragdoll cat didn't upstage us and get into mischief so much!!  LOL

Today, Frank and I are going to work on our Christmas cards.  We are sending cards to his parents, our friends Louisiana Sandusky in Tennessee, Jenna Aurora Doucet in Anchorage, Elaine Muktuq in Barrow, and others that we work with at our job.  We should have 'em out in the mail by tomorrow.  We already got cards from Louisiana Sandusky and from Elaine Muktuq.  Now's our turn to get busy.

Yesterday Frank's parents called; they're doing well, considering they're in their eighties, and in better health than me!  :/  I'm only in my late forties, and I'm fallin' apart at the seams!  *Sighh*

Anyway, they called to tell us that they are under winter storm warnings!  In southwest LOUISIANA!!  Now is that nuts or what????

I didn't dood it!  I didn't send 'em the snow or the cold weather!!  LOL

It's colllllllllld here!!  So glad I have a warm house, not to mention, a nice, warm man to snuggle up to!  I have the added bonus of two fat, furry kitties.  And, of course, our fireplace and heated electric blankets for added warmth!  Oh, yes!  Katrina's a happy camper:  she's as snug as a bug in a rug!  No frozen bones this winter!  LOL

Temps here have been runnin' in the subzero range; in a few weeks, it may be as cold as in the minus teens.  For the HIGHS!!  BRRRR!!  That ought to put a li'l frost on the pumpkins ...  Ya think????  LOL

Well, going to go.  I hear Opie yowling from the utility room.  Sounds like he's saying, "Let.  Me.  OUWWT!!"   He's got another thing coming:  he is not going to be let out.  He's been a bad boy!!  LOL

Take care and God bless!  Will write in here soon!

~Love, Katrina.  :)

A wonderful family story and their preparation for Christmas. Makes me think of my treasured family gatherings when Mama and Daddy still lived. Good story, Karen.
