Dear Journal~
This won't be long. I hope this finds you doing well; I'm not doing that good. Not so much me or my family, but Kendra. Again. Seems that tragedy has struck her family.
Her daughter, Sophia, was dancing during a dance recital yesterday and she collapsed; she was then rushed to the hospital, where doctors are busy trying to figure out what is going on with her. She's at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital at this time.
Poor Kendra and Michael are beside themselves with worry. I don't blame them. There's nothing worse to a parent than to have one of their children in the hospital, especially during major holidays like Christmas. Now is such a time for the Kents.
After what they'd gone through with Holly, I was hoping that the worst would be behind them; now it seems that the enemy has attacked this family without provocation yet again. I am in tears as I write this down; my mind/thoughts are tangled up worse than cable wire.
I am trying to be positive, be strong for Kendra, but to see her in pain breaks my heart in two. I wish I could do more to help her during this time!
I have already called church to let them know; I am sure young Sophia will be lifted up in continuous prayer. They were upset when they got the news, but not nearly as much as me. Sophia is a talented young dancer; I am scared as to what may happen. After all, I have known far too many people who lost a limb to cancer, and I am afraid that this may be the outcome, the way things look now.
I could be wrong; I have been wrong before. After all, I'm just a nurse, not a doctor; I can't diagnose a patient, although sometimes I know what is going on with them before the doctor even looks at them. I have seen it in my own children, so I know from experience.
I might have to bow out of the Cantata, depending on what is going on with Sophia. I want to be there for the Kents as they face this latest crisis in their lives. Suddenly the Cantata (let alone, Christmas) seems like a million miles away.
Well, the phone is ringing, so I'd best answer it. (I'm at work as I write this.) I will write in here as soon as I find out anything; in the meantime, please keep Kendra and Michael (and especially Sophia) in your prayers; they could really use a Christmas miracle! Thank you in advance!
~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Louie May. :( *tears!*
