Max and me hold Raggedy and Ken hostage for cookies.

The kidnapping of Raggedy Ann and Ken
Max and me

Now it is not as bad as the title indicates but some where we got started down the wrong road. I mean we were turning into hardened criminals it all started innocently enough. We were trying to figure out how we could wreak some revenge on his sister the Gargoyle.
She had been getting the best of us for some time now and we needed to even the score board. Now even though she flew a broom and sat on the roof at night she was still a girl and played with girly things. And us being us decided to kidnap Raggedy Ann and her current boyfriend Ken remember Ken is the boyfriend of Barbie, what he was hanging with Raggedy for who knows, cheating skunk.  I don’t know what he seen in her, all she does and hang around all raggedy and floppy wearing rags for clothes.
So we snuck into her room when she was busy doing busy things and grabbed the two. They put up a fight, Ken especially guess he figured he was dead meat if Barbie found out, but we managed to get them tied up and gagged and out the door we headed.
When we got out we went to the shop and put them in shackles on the wall. We had also just seen a TV movie called…called….called……alright so I can’t remember but I do know it had this weird thing that was swinging back and forth and it hung from the ceiling, and you definitely did not want to be tied down under it like the guy in the movie.
So we found a shovel and hung it from the ceiling and tied Ken down below it like in the movies, his eyes were the size of saucers now, Raggedy had her eyes tightly shut or was a sleep not sure which.
As you have probable figured by now we were either mentally unstable which is always in question or we had a VERY active imagination, I personally think it is the second but most everybody else are leaning toward the first.
Anyway back to the story, with the shovel in place and Kens eyes about to bug out we started it swinging and got a picture of it. We also took a picture of them in shackles with our “borrowed” Polaroid camera. We then snuck back into her room and left the pictures on her bed with a ransom note, “burn your broom and leave a dozen cookies outside by the apple tree, or you know what happens next.”
We knew when she found it; the shriek that erupted from the house was spine chilling. We both looked at each other thinking that this may not have been one of our better ideas. We kept low and out of sight most of the day, watching the apple tree from our perch on the roof of the bunk house.
Things were slow and we were wondering what she was up to by now, maybe brewing up an evil brew to use on us, even making little stick figures of us full of pins, as you can see our imagination was running loose, again.
About noon we seen her leave the house with a plate and go toward the tree where she looked around, glared, and left. Everywhere she looked the leaves had turned brown and was falling off the tree. We kept an eye on her and she went back into the house. We slid down off the roof and unbeknownst, big word I had just learnt in school, to us she and Max’s mom had snuck out the front door as we approached our prize.
Just as we reached for a cookie, we could hear a foot tapping behind us, not a good sound to hear in the middle recovering the ransom in the kidnapping of Raggedy Ann and Ken. When we looked over our shoulders there was mom and sis and the look on the Gargoyles face was not one I would forget for a long time, more like have nightmares about for years to come.
Mom grabbed us both by the ears and lead us off telling us that if we didn’t tell where Raggedy Ann and Ken were she was going to rip our ears off. This was a serious threat since it was coming from mom. Of course we held out as long as we could, being hardened criminals, after about two seconds I was talking. Ok I’m a wimp what can I say.
We went to the shop and rescued the two victims, Raggedy Ann and Ken, not us. I swear when Ken seen the Gargoyle come in he smiled and then looked at me and stuck out his tongue, ok maybe I was more mentally challenged than I had let on earlier. But then again………..
We were put on house probation for this, which involved cleaning the house, doing the dishes, making beds, and doing the Gargoyles chores for a week and to make it worse she ate the cookies we had worked so hard to get, ours, ours, ours, we had worked hard for those.
It wasn’t any better when I was home, my mom was in on the deal, so it was work, work, work, all work and no play makes for interference in the adventures of Max and me. This had to stop we had things to do, places to explore and  vengeance to extract on, well you know, on Ken, he was going down, Barbie had been secretly talking to us about rubbing him out.
