Dear Journal~

Johnathon here.  I hope this finds y'all well; I am doing super!!

You'll never guess what I got for Christmas/my birthday:  I got a brand-new, state-of-the-art computer!!  My mama, daddy, and several church friends chipped in and got it for me; it about blew my mind!!  I was so happy I cried!

In addition to that, I got money from some church friends (as well as from some of my aunts and uncles), new clothes, underwear, socks, and shoes, several new editions of books-on-tape, a new winter coat, gloves, hat, and scarf, water-proof boots, gift certificates to Olive Garden, Golden Corral, Denney's, Eidelweiss German Haus, Barnes and Noble Booksellers, Half-Price Booksellers, and Mardel's, and some new play toys and collar for my service dog, "Ginger".

I guess you can say I made out like gangbusters!!  Yes, sir, I had a wonderful Christmas and birthday all rolled up into one!  (I turned 17 years old on December 26, two days ago.)

It's been great having my brother, Erick, and my (adopted) brother Anh, and my (adopted) sisters Steffi, Melizza, Dwerlina, and Dianna home from college. (Lightning, my oldest sister, couldn't come; she and her husband, Darnell, have been seeing a marriage counselor because they were having marital problems.)

Now a new year is fixin' to hit us in the buttinsky; I only hope and pray that it's better than this year was.  It doesn't help that Obama (I call him "Osama") is in the White House; he scares me silly every time I hear him speak or see him on television or in the papers!  He gives me the creeps!!  *shudder*

I miss ol' George Bush, Jr.  He may not have been the best president we had, but Obama isn't doing what he promised, and he isn't listening to the people!

I can't wait until next year:  I'll be old enough to vote.  'Course, I will have to wait three more years until the next presidential election, dang it!  I just dread what the future of our country is going to be like; it's going to hell in a handbasket quick, that is for darn sure!!

We had a wonderful Christmas, as I mentioned above.  It culminated in my getting that computer.  I still can't believe that mama, daddy, and several church friends would get me something so special, so useful ... so expensive!!  I know they paid a pretty penny (make that pennies) for it!!

And for us, Christmas still isn't over.  We're expecting more packages to arrive from North Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, and elsewhere.  Mama has a lot of friends!  :)

What are we going to do for the new year?  Probably go to downtown Nashville and join in the festivities, and act like a total moron.  (Not really, but I do plan on having fun!  LOL)  There'll be music, dancing, noisemakers, and even fireworks!! 

I can't wait!!

I don't know what 2010 has in store for me, in regards to my health, but I'm praying that my current spell of good health continues as long as possible.  I don't want to start the new year off on the wrong foot by ending up in the hospital; otherwise, I'll be in the hospital all year long!  That would not be good at all!  *groan!*
