A neighbor finds out the shocking reason behind a small child's disturbing behavior.

Pinkie Mae Overton is no longer living in our neighborhood.  She is now living elsewhere.

I suppose that is a good thing, a blessing in disquise; however, to find out why she acted the way she did was an answer to prayer.  The suspicions I'd held in my gut for a while proved to be correct:  little Pinkie Mae Overton was being sexually abused by both her grandfather and father.  The two men had been doing this to her ever since she was very small; they are now in jail, where they are awaiting sentencing.

Pinkie's mother is staying with friends until all of this is overwith.  She is in a state of shock and disbelief over what's happened to her family.

As you can imagine, her mother was devastated, although she denied that anything was wrong with Pinkie.  She covered up the abuse by buying her daughter anything she wanted as a way of covering it up.  When her odd behavior surfaced in disturbing fashion (she was killing neighborhood animals by strangling them to death), I decided to get to the bottom of it, and I did.

Pinkie is now staying at a residential home for emotionally disturbed children, where she can get the therapy and treatment she desperately needed.  She will probably remain there for a very long time to come, the way things appear now.

I just feel sorry for my neighbors who lost their beloved cats and dogs.  I also feel bad for her little brother, who was the victim of her wrath too many times to count.  (He is now in the foster care system.)

If I could do anything to replace these neighbors' animals, I would do so in a heartbeat.  They can now come out of hiding, now that the little monster is "behind bars".

I just hope that the psychiatrists and doctors at the home can help little Pinkie get over the abuse she suffered at the hands of her grandfather and father; no child deserves to be treated like this!

*The End.*

P.S.:  I will update you with periodic information about Pinkie as they become available; you haven't heard the last from her (or from me)!

I loved this because we can so easily judge a child when they are acting violently, but there may be and usally is violence and abuse going on in the home.Having been sexually abused many times as a child I know someone can have a very full and joyful life if they get the help they need and can even forgive the people who abused them. Then they are truely free to love. Thanks Karen.

Heartbreaking, the reason behind Pinkie's disturbing behavior: the two closest men in her life betrayed her trust in them. I pray she isn't scarred for life ... sadly penned, Karen, but glad she's somewhere where she can (hopefully) get the much needed help and attention she deserves.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(
