Hello! Thought an update was way past overdue, so here goes nothing ...
Jayne Mulligan is my name. I live in Nashville, Tennessee, with my husband, Mike (he's a high school football coach; I'm a stay-at-home mom), and our ten children, who range in age from 9 1/2 to 26 years. I'm also a grandmother, four times over: our daughters Polly and Stevie have one kid each, and our oldest child, Mike, Jr., has two.
Our grandchildren and our daughters-in-law live with us, making for a very full house. (Now I know how our neighbors across the street, the Sanduskys, feel with their sixty-plus children! LOL) Still, it is something we would never get rid of; we love our children (and grandchildren) way too much!
Our son Adam will be graduating from high school this year in June; he will then probably move to Texas, where he plans on going to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth; he wants to be a pastor. Next year our daughter, Robyn, 17, will be a senior; she will be graduating then. She wants to go to college too; she wants to work with children with special needs. I think this is because of her twin sister, Ronee', who does have special needs.
Melynda has gotten a job promotion at the bank: she will become the bank's assistant manager. She loves her job; she's worked there for a year now and has done very well for herself.
Stevie will be getting married at the end of this year; she plans on having a November wedding. She is marrying her longtime boyfriend, Beau Blake, whom she met in high school; they've been head over head in love ever since. They are very good to each other, and we love Beau as though he was another son.
Kimmy, who is a sophmore, continues to win awards for track and field; she is our resident future Olympian. She would like to become a professional athlete; if that doesn't pan out, she wants to work as a veterinarian's assistant; she loves animals of all kinds.
Britni, our youngest daughter, who is a freshman, wants to work as a sign language interpreter; being hard of hearing, we feel that this would be a big plus for her. She can hear, but not well; she wears hearing aids and can talk like anyone else or if she feels like it, use sign language in order to communicate.
As for Alejandro, our very youngest child at nine and a half, he is all boy: loud, gregarious, full of mischief and fun. Life is never dull with Alejandro around! He is our family jokester; one has to be careful because you never know what he might do or when he might do it.
Our grandbabies are absolutely precious; it is as if we are seeing our kids being little all over again. It's fun being a grandma because I can spoil them to my heart's content! LOL Our grandchildren are named Kinsie Dayla (6), Jaden Patrick (5; they're Mike, Jr.'s children), Tanner Jake (Polly's son), and Hayden Karl (Stevie and Beau's son). Tanner is three and Hayden is one and a half. They are cute as the dickens; we just love having them with us!
Polly was engaged to be married, but then her husband left her for another woman, even after she had become a mother. As you can imagine, it about devastated her; it's only been in the last few months where she actually started smiling again. Polly is now a single parent.
Stevie didn't plan to get pregnant until after she and Beau got married, but she did, and now she has no choice. She is getting married sooner than she thought she would. She had originally planned to get married in a year or so, but now that she has a child, she had to move it up quickly.
So that is what is new with us. Mostly good news, but some bad. Yet like any other family, we roll with the punches, and we go on with our lives. Our lives are very good, and we have God to thank for that. We rely on God fully and completely; we cannot imagine our lives without Him.
Well, Hayden and Tanner are fixin' to get it on, so before any blood is shed, I'd best see to what is going on. I will write in here again; until then, this is Jayne Mulligan saying so long! God bless you!
