Louisiana Sandusky is excited: her favorite professional football team, the New Orleans Saints, won the Super Bowl yesterday evening, 31-17, over the Indianapolis Colts.

Monday, Feb. 7, 2010,  Nashville, Tennessee, 4:43 p.m., C.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

Who Dat, who dat? I say, who dat, who dat??  It's the New Orleans Saints, and they are the Super Bowl Champions!!

Louie here.  I am very amused, as you can imagine.  This has been a dream for mine for a very long time: my favorite professional football team, the New Orleans (Louisiana) Saints have won gridiron glory; as a result, they are the champions of the Super Bowl, which was played yesterday evening in Miami, Florida.

They won, beat the heavily-favored Indianapolis Colts, 31-17.  For a while, I thought the Colts were going to run us over; but then, in the second half of the game, it was mostly all New Orleans.  As a result, we won!!

You should have haard our family last night at church.  Our church had a Super Bowl Watch Party, and they also served chili, nacho chips, mashed potatoes, lettuce (as well as potato) salad, hamburgers, water, tea, coffee, or soda, and cake for those who came to watch the football game.  We watched the game, and we cheered our little hearts out just about the entire time, especially when New Orleans started racking up the points!

As a result, most of the kids are very hoarse today, as are Bill and my father.  They can hardly talk above a whisper (or, in Ronee' 's, Johnny's, and my case, not at all).  We did a little bit too much screaming!  LOLOLOLOL

I was supposed to work tonight at the hospital; however, since I have no voice, I called my boss and told him that I wouldn't be in, thanks to having laryngitis.  He could barely hear me when I called; he told me to stay home and drink lots of honey tea.  I told him I would.  I'd try to be in tomorrow if the weather co-operates (but doesn't look like it will:  our area is currently under a winter storm watch).

Poor Johnny, Kecia, Porter, LaGloria, Todd, Richard, and Sergei were not too happy:  all were rooting for Indianapolis.  Johnny got so upset he cried in front of everyone; I really felt bad for him!  All I could do was offer him comfort and try not to rub it in his face that his team was losing; it would have already made him feel worse than he did.  Johnny tried to understand, but it sure upset him to see the New Orleans Saints fans celebrating when his team was favored to win!

My boss at the hospital did give me some good news:  I won $1,000 in the football pool because I had the closest guess to the final score.  I guessed New Orleans would be over the Indianapolis Colts 31-16.  I was one number off!!  Otherwise, I would have won $2,000!  So when I go to work next time, I will be $1,000 richer!  :)

That money will be put to good use: food for the family and pay off some credit card bills!  :/  LOL

It won't last that long!  (Dangit!)

Bill has gone to the store to stock up on Saints merchandise for the family.  He's been gone just about all day; I expect him home anytime.  Hopefully he will get home long before the weather turns nasty, especially since he's on crutches!

Well, I am going to go now.  Making crawfish jambalaya and tater tots for supper.  I will write in here again soon; untli later, this is Louie signing off!  Take care and God bless!  And AAAIEEEE, Saints!!  Bet they're partyin' hard in Louisiana tonight!!!!  :D

~Love, your friend, Louisiana May.  :D

A betting UK house had two weeks ago the Colts favorites 1.10 to 29, guess what, a church needed repairs for a leaking roof and the flock raised pound for pound a 957 bet for the Saints. They got almost 28.000 for a new roof and a few heart attacks has number 22 run to the touch down line all by himself!

Karen,

Was a good game. Can tell who was rooting for the Saints by all the hoarse voices. And one sore toe. LOL! I know we were. Great story, well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Louie sounds a lot like me when it comes to the Six Nations Rugby over here... that's England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France and Italy. Feelings and traditions run high and each match is highly contested - perhaps it is more intense because the same opponents line up each year! There's no doubting the feel-good among the fans, though... and a great excuse, if ever one was needed, for a good ol' get together and a party! Glad, in Loui's instance, the right team won, though not easy for Johnny... I hope poor Bill came home with a consolation prize for him! :)) Enjoy the winnings! Great journaling as always, Karen. xx
