Ronee' Reaux is sick of snow and snow days.

Weds., Feb. 10, 2010, Nashville, TN., 10:20 a.m., C.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

Today findeth me home from school.  Another danged blasted winter storm has once again wreaked havoc on our city:  schools and many businesses are closed, and streets are hazardous and dangerous to travel on.  More cold, more snow, more misery!!

I just got up a little bit ago.  Was up earlier, in the hopes that school would be open, but when I looked out at the heavy snowfall outside, I knew otherwise.  The radio or television didn't have to tell me that there'd be no school today:  I already knew down deep inside that school wouldn't be open.

We've missed at least ten days of school this year because of weather; now that means we have five days to make up in the summer, right before school ends.  That means school one week later after school was supposed to have ended for the summer.  In other words, a shorter summer vacation period.

Bah the humbug!  I know Christmas is past, but BAH.  The.  Humbug!!!!  That bites; that really bites!!

I am so sick of snow/winter/cold I could just spit!!  I want sunshine!  Spring!  Warmth!  Greenage on the trees!  Swimming in the family pool!  Hanging out with my friends on the weekends!  Getting ready for the Easter Cantata at church!!

It may be February on the calendar, but it looks more (and feels) like December.

I am depressed.  I wish spring'd hurry up and get here!  My Cajun blood can't take too much more of this cold; and neither can my achy-breaky joints!!!!

I've already played all my new music CD's I got for Christmas (some more than once), and I'm sick of practicing my Cajun accordion, fiddle, banjo, or guitar!  I'm sick of playing with bored brothers and sisters, and I am sick playing babysitter or caretaker!  I'm sick of watching the same old boring DVD's, and during the day there's nothing on TV but stupid soap operas or talk shows!  Talk about major suckage!!  I'm more than ready for a break in the weather!!!!

I haven't been out of the house since Saturday (when we saw "BeauSoleil"); that was before the sh** hit the fan (or in this case, snow!), and now we're snowed in big time.  We have at least three-five feet of snow out there, and it's still coming down fast and furious!!  Okay, we did go to the Super Bowl party at church (forgot about that), but later that night, it started snowing hot and heavy, and it's still comin' down!!  ARRGHHH!! I'm to the point to where I'm ready to tell God:  "Enough is ENOUGH!!!!"

Suddenly lying on the beach in Mexico City, Mexico, or hanging out at Miami, Florida, sounds like a dream come true !  I'd give anything to get out of this frozen icebox disquised as Music City U.S.A.:  it looks more like Barrow, Alaska, than Nashville, Tennessee!!  Feels more like Alaska, too!

I wouldn't be surprised if we see the aurora borealis tonight in our skies if it ever decides to clear up!!!!

Or perhaps a friendly Inuit man or a nanuq just waiting to devour one small, tasty Cajun girl for a snack!!

Well, since there's really nothing I can do about the rotten weather outside, I'm going back to bed.  Plan on sleeping in as long as I can; don't care if granpere' Armand screams his head off!  I'm too bummed as it is; I want people to leave me alone and let me wallow in my misery!  So on that note, bye!  I'm going back to bed now.  Goodnight; don't wake me up until Easter!

~Love, your friend in Snowville, Tennessee, Ronee' Le-Anne.  :(

I'd love to have some snow days, Ronee: find any snow you don't want or need, send it down North Texas way. :) Well done, Karen, you capture her frustration and boredom perfectly!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
