Dareen Willis-Oliver here.  Thought I would fill you in with another update regarding Caden Drew Bollinger, the young disabled boy who was badly burned by some teenagers several months ago.

Surprisingly, Caden is still with us.  He has rallied back; in fact he is doing so well, they are thinking of moving him out of the Intensive Care unit!!  While he will continue to face more surgeries in the weeks/months/years ahead, in regards to his burns, he has recovered enough to where he no longer needs assistance to breathe (he is breathing room air!), and he has even started eating a little!

We have no idea how long Caden will remain in the hospital; however, the fact that he has come this far is nothing short of a miracle!  God has heard the prayers of His people regarding this small boy's plight; He's answered them in a huge way!  God is indeed good!

The last time I wrote (over a month ago), I had reported that Caden was in a coma and had suffered yet another heart stoppage.  He wasn't doing so good; we thought for sure he was going to buy the farm.  Now he's awake, breathing on his own, and has recently started eating!

I am sure the little guy is still in a lot of pain, but he doesn't seem to show it.  He is just glad to be feeling better!

The young teens who purposely set Caden ablaze have been sentenced; their trial has now come to an end.  They face anywhere from ten to fifty years in jail for bodily injury to a child and attempted murder, amongst other charges.  It's been splashed all over the news; it even made the national news.

While I do feel horrible for the teens and their families, I can't think of that now as I celebrate this latest miracle in Caden's road to recovery.  The fact that he is still alive (and is about to leave the ICU) is enough to praise God for His goodness!

I will write in here again with another update, probably in a week or so.  Hopefully Caden will continue to do as well as he's doing; this is the best news we've had ever since this first happened back in October, four months ago!  Take care and continue to pray for not only Caden, but his parents Julie and Charlie and his brother and sister, Eagan and Ashlynn!  They could use the prayers too!  Thank you in advance, and may God bless you all!
