A young boy copes with loud neighbors who argue in public.

I don't know how much more of this that I can take ...

I mean, really.  If you are having a problem with something (or somebody), we don't want to hear about it!  Do it in the privacy of your own home!  It's only common courtesy, ya know!

I have to put up with this every dang day.  My next door neighbors, the Thomassies, a young couple, seem to enjoy arguing, and the louder it is, the better it is (for them).  I am getting sick and tired of hearing Willis and Cordelia screaming at each other, cursing to beat the band, and wondering if things are going to start flying.  They argue at any point in the day, and it's only causing undue stress on me, my mom, and my dad, who has health problems (he's disabled and can't work; he's in a wheelchair).

If it doesn't improve anytime soon, we just might have to up and move to someplace quieter.  (As you can probably guess, we live in an apartment complex, where the walls are quite thin; you can hear just about everything your next door neighbors -- on either side, mind  you -- do!  And Lord help us if a baby starts crying or if neighbors start arguing:  you know it when that happens!)

I guess Willis and Cordelia Thomassie think the world revolves around them or that the world owes 'em a living.  They were displaced by Hurricane Katrina five years ago, and they are livin' off government assistance.  She works; however, Willis doesn't.  He's a lazy-bum.  He claims the hurricane damaged him; he gets disability, even though he could work if he wanted to.  I think he'd rather sit on his butt, drink beer, and watch sports all day.

Maybe it's a good thing the Thomassies don't have kids because guess who would have to watch 'em:  yes, that's right.  Me!  I could see it now!!

And if they scream and yell at each other like they do, I can only imagine just how they would treat the kids:  they'd probably treat 'em the same way!

I do know this:  Willis and Cordelia are Cajun.  And Cajuns are known for their explosive tempers.  Not a pretty picture to see (or hear)!

Anyway, the last time they fought (yesterday), my poor dad was shaking so hard, and he looked like he was going to cry.  I felt so bad for him, and yet I was furious with the Thomassies for causing the stress he's going under.  Don't they have any manners?  I'm beginning to think that they don't; they care for nobody but themselves!

Living next door to the Thomassies is like a three-ring circus.  It's no wonder I've called our apartment complex "The Greatest Show On Earth" because everyone's dirty laundry can be heard in the open!  It is embarrassing; it's no wonder I want to move away so bad!

The only peace I get is when I'm at school or at my friend's house.  I have enough to deal with in my own life; I don't need the circus comin' to town, which it seems to do, every blamed day!!

Aw kid, you'll look back on this some day with much amusement and you can tell your buddies about the Cajun Dumbassies next door. Parlez-vous? Patrick

I agree with the boy... hope they don't reproduce. Enough said by me on that subject. Hugs from frigid Florida! Kathy
