March 2010~

Egads! I just looked at my journal, and it was October when I last wrote!  We were getting ready for Hallowe'en; now it's a new year, and we just entered the month of March!  Where has my head been lately????

Phaedra Rose McIntyre here.  Hope this finds y'all well; I am getting used to Florida, but I still wish I were back in Boston, Massachussetts!  I miss my friends there!

Now that the heat of summer has past, I can actually go outside without sweating halfway to death; still have to worry about 'gators, but I try to steer as far away from them as possible:  don't want to become a part of some nasty reptilian's lunch, y'know??

I had a good Christmas and New Year's:  spent Christmas with the fam and also visited Caz Tyndale, Johnnie Williams, and Squeakie Cortez; we call her that because she talks in a very high voice; she sounds like a little girl!  Had a good time; got many nice things, and for New Year's, we went downtown where we shot off firecrackers and watched the fireworks blooming like multicolored flowers in the warm Florida night sky.  It was marvelous!!

For Valentine's Day, we entertained the senior citizens at some local nursing homes; those places always make me depressed; it reminds me too much of when Grandpa was in one after his Alzheimer's got bad.  He suffered terribly; mom and dad are still trying to fight them and sue their happy ass (the nursing home where grandpa was at). 

My brothers Ant, Brad, and Timmy are still being brats; we are always fighting, it seems; mom and dad are more than ready to shiop them off to Alaska!

I'm ready to ship them to Alaska; they are brats with a capital B!

Then last month, mom announced that she's pregnant, which will mean a new family member in seven months.  Great!  Back to diaper duty again!  (Sigh)  I personally hope mom has a little girl; I'm already surrounded by too many boys now as it is!!

Dad as you can imagine is very excited, as are Ant and Brad; Timmy, he is mad because he will no longer be the baby of the family; he is jealous of the new baby-to-be.  Don't blame him one bit!

We had a cold winter here in Florida:  lost a lot of our orange crop to frost and cold; that means higher prices in the summer.  It was a bad one; our pipes also froze twice and flooded the kitchen; it was disgusting!  I am sooo glad spring is about here; I've had enough of winter to last me the rest of my life!

Oh, we had winter in Boston, but then you come to expect that; you don't expect cold or even snow here in Florida!  Yes, we had snow, twice!  Everyone got all excited!!

Well, I gotta go:  am at school as I write this; if Mr. Marcum sees me writing in my journal instead of working on my social commentary, he might give me a nice, big fat 'F'!  Don't want that, so I'd best vamanos for now and get busy on my schoolwork!  I will write in here again soon; please forgive me for the long delay, but it's been crazy in my world!  Take care and God bless!  See ya around!
