Colbie Colbert here.  Thought an update was in order; it's been three months since I wrote last. 

Things have been crazy at best.  Diamond and Granger have been doing super; as for Kaitlyn, the second oldest, not so much.  She spent last month in the hospital, fighting pneumonia; thought for a while we were going to lose her, but she rallied, and she's just about over it, thank goodness.

Amazingly, her heart issues didn't flare up; it was her breathing.  She now has to sleep with oxygen at night and take meds by inhaler or by pills; she also has to do a breathing treatment at night when she goes to bed, and have physiotherapy four times a day, to keep her lungs as clear as possible.

I wish Kaitlyn didn't have to suffer so much, but she has proven to be a very tough little chickadee.  It takes a lot to knock her down; she isn't afraid to get back up and start fighting for all her worth; the courage and stanima she has is nothing short of amazing!

It is now spring here in the Bayou State:  trees and flowers busting out all over, warmer days, and cool nights, really pretty this time of year.  We did have some bad storms last week, but no tornadoes around us, thank goodness.  Still, the skies did get ugly, and the kids were scared when the tornado sirens sounded!  I was never so glad when they gave the "all-clear", to let us know that the bad weather had  moved on!

Now is the time for tornadoes and storms; we have to be ready for when they do come, be it day or night.  (When it does get this bad, we  hide in our tiny claustrophobic half bath; we don't have a storm shelter here, which is rather unnerving!)

The kids start their Easter break next week (rather, Diamond and Kaitlyn do; Granger is too little to go to school).  It will be nice to have them home!

For Easter, we are going to my mamma's, as we did over Christmas, and our church is also having a special Eastertime service.  We will probably go out to eat after church and then go over to my mama's for lunch and fun.  I know the kids will be glad to see their NeNe; they always are!

I'm just glad mama is so accepting of my kids, especially of Kaitlyn's health issues.  Many people aren't, and it's frustrating when I tell them to look beyond her "Down syndrome-ness" and see her as I do: a beautiful little girl!

Well, I have to go:  phone is ringing again.  If it is another telemarketer, I just may have to scream or at least get my name on the "do-not-call" list; they call every hour of the day, and it is getting past the point of annoying!  Take care, and may God bless you always; keep us in your prayers, pray that Kaitlyn stays healthy!  I would greatly appreciate it!  Thanks in advance!
