I can visualize him singing in Heaven. All dressed up on those Golden Streets. His family never gave up on finding his murderer and never stopped praying and cooperating with law enforcement. He was popular in many communities on radio, ministry and quartet -gospel singing. When he announced a program you could expect a packed house.
MURDERER CAUGHT!!!
The 87 year old Country Preacher was beaten in the head with a railroad type wrench. He was attacked in a home invasion, in May 2009 and consequently died two and a half months later, the murderer has been apprehended. Today we all are waiting for the court to pronounce the new charges. I do not believe this 44 year old man will be seeing any more days free on bond. He has an extensive criminal record.
This criminal was serving time in another county for unrelated charges. But due to scientific investigation (DNA) he was found in the system by the cooperation of law enforcement agencies.
The sad sight was to see his old chair where he would sit for many years and tender his garden from which he fed people throughout his community and beyond. It seemed as if the roots from where he had planted weeped and grew through the frigid weather we had this year. The garden florishes as if he had planted it himself. The chair has rusted, but it appears as if he is still sitting there bending over toiling in his garden. How many people will this garden feed this year? It appears miraculous.
His lovely daughter, who is a reverend, spoke praises on a television news report about how the family praises God and about the handy work of our law enforcement agencies.
I pray that this family will find some peace in the outcome of the final proceedings in the case of their fathers murder.
He was a good friend of mine and will never be forgotten.
