"Hopefully 'the pizza cure' will do the trick!"

Our young friend is starting to feel more like himself, thanks to oxygen and medications. He is recovering from a particularly nasty bout of pneumonia.

I am happy to say that I am starting to feel human again.

Sidney Younce here.  I am out of the hospital as I write this, but I still feel like I'm there:  have to have the oxygen for at least another week, and the nurse comes and sticks me for bloodwork.  *groan*  I also continue to take my pills, which have all but wrecked my appetite.  Am not hungry, so I'm not eating as well as I should.

Other than that, I'm doing great.  :)

At least I'm back in my own bed and not that cast-iron behemoth of a machine at the hospital they call a bed!  It was akin to sleeping on bricks, it was so hard!!  My poor backside was so sore!

Mom and dad have been doing a better job of keeping Maddie out of my hair, thank goodness, and Joachim, too (he's five while Maddie's three; they're just babies); I appreciate it more than you know!  They know I have been sick, so mom and dad have been respecting my wishes; otherwise, they'd never give me a moment's peace!

Grandma and grandpa have been coming over, spoiling me, by bringing me new games, books, and clothes; they even gave me $50.00 -- "just because".  (Their words, not mine!)  Hey:  as long as it's green, and as long as it's money, I'm not going to complain:  in fact, I'd say, "Keep it coming!"  :)  So now I have some Easter money to play with when we go on Easter break next week (though I have already been on break, thanks to this pneumonia and being in the hospital -- but am now thankfully out)!

Mom said if I do well at Dr. Pratt's office today (post hospital checkup #3), I can have pizza.  Yum!!  I just hope I can eat it; as I said, the medicines I am taking now are wrecking my appetite; nothing really tastes good.  Hopefully "the pizza cure" will do the trick!  :)

Since getting out of the hospital, my buddies at school have been calling practically nonstop or coming over.  Mom gets annoyed because even though they mean well, she says I am still recovering; I need to get my rest.

Seems that's all I have been doing:  sleeping or resting, even when awake!  :(  I am so sick of being in bed, I can just spit!  (Only time I get up is to go pee or poop, and even then I have to have someone with me in case I fall; I've gotten very weak.)  I also might have to have a little physical therapy, just to speed things up; not walking as much as I should be.

Well, I gotta go and try to eat breakfast, so I will go.  My appointment is at 10; that's nearly three hours and fifteen minutes from now.  I also have to have a bath and get dressed.  Until next time, this is Sidney saying so long and God bless; say a prayer that I do well at the doctor's, and pray I get off the oxygen soon and that I get my strength (not to mention, my appetite) back!  Thanks; prayers are greatly appreciated!

~As ever, your bud, Sidney Younce.  :)

As a child I was the runt of a litter of nine children. Almost every winter I would be put to bed with either pleurisie or Pneumonia and at the time I hated it. Now though looking back in hindsight, those sessions at home were some of my best memories for I had my mother's attention all to myself. She would allow me specail privaleges and make special treats such as home mad chips etc. Thanks for igniting an old memory Karen.
