Greg Eddiston here.  Thought I would update you on my family, particularly our daughter, Mukhtar Grace, whom we adopted about four months ago from India; she came in December, around Christmastime.

Mukhtar continues to make progress in her therapies:  she is starting to catch up to kids her age; it has been slow, but she's coming around; her true personality is starting to emerge.  She is also learning more in the way of English and has since started to learn to read/write in English.  Her speech is becoming clearer: her desires and wants are becoming more clear to us.

She may have some physical disabilities: her walking is still rather stilted, uneven, but so far, nothing has really shown up in the results; test results continue to be inconclusive.  She might have a mild case of cerebral palsy or spina bifida; doctors aren't so sure as to what is exactly wrong with her.

Mukhtar's brothers (David and Paul) love her to pieces; they are always wanting to play with her or hang around her; as for Canaan, our youngest (he's two), he's not so sure whether he likes having a sister.  He's still partial to his brothers rather than to Mukhtar; to him, Mukhtar is nothing but a big bother.

We will be celebrating Easter by going to church on Sunday; then we plan on going to the park, where they will have an Easter egg hunt.  I know the kids (Mukhtar and Canaan) will enjoy that; the older boys will probably play frisbee or baseball with some of the other kids who come to the park.  It all depends on the weather, of course; if it's raining or cold out, we will stay indoors and entertain each other.  LOL

We might go out to eat prior to going to the park; that part is probably still in the cards.  We will take the children to Golden Corral; I've always liked the food there, and so has my family.

At church, they will have a Easter cantata, with drama, video, and special music about the resurrection of our Saviour, Jesus, from the cross.  The children will have their own celebration in children's church; they go to the gym while we adults or older teens go to the sanctuary and attend the regular service.  I know it will be good; I just hope people are touched by the true meaning of what Easter is all about!

I am in the cantata:  I play a Roman guard who arrests Jesus, then help out with the Crucifixion.  I get to help nail "Jesus" to the "cross".

The weather here has been pretty good:  later today we might get some strong to severe thunderstorms, then it's supposed to turn sharply colder, with a chance of rain mixed with snow or sleet.  Guess winter isn't done with us yet here in the northeast (we live in Vermont).  We might even have a chance of tornadoes!  I hope not!  Storms always unnerve Canaan and my wife; don't know how Mukhtar will handle the sirens going off or us huddling in the basement as the winds howl outside!  This is going to be interesting ...
