Nashville, TN., March 31, 2010~

G'day, all!  T'is me, Charles Quigley, putting pen to paper; burnin' the midnight oil, I guess.  (Well, not really:  t'is early morning; six o'clock here; actually, it's six fifteen; was thinkin' Aussie time for a minute!  LOL).

I just got back from Australia two days ago after spendin' three glorious weeks visiting me sis, Meegin; it was so good to see her!  She is doing fantastic; she's recovering well from her surgery and is gaining lost strength back.  I had her laughin' so hard she was in tears!  Also saw some of me mates; haven't seen some o' 'em in yonks!!  We caught up on old times, shared tinnies with each other, got pretty well blottoed.  :)  (Me and the guys, not Meegin; she doesn't drink.)

Whilst it is spring here in the States, back home in Oz, it is fall.  They had a very long, hot, dry summer, with lots of fires; there was one about five miles up the road from Meegin; she and the neighbors had to evacuate to higher ground until the fire could be contained.  Thankfully nothing was destroyed or damaged; it is only by a miracle the firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in time!

Thank God for answered prayers!

Saw lots of boomers (big male kangaroos); they were all over the place; they are quite a nuisance.  Made a mess of me sis's garbage, they did; had one 'ell of a bloody mess to clean up!  LOL  Damnfool boomers (roos)!!

I did stock up on Vegemite, so I have plenty to spread on me bread whilst snacking.  :)  No worries! 

Still workin' at the factory for the time being, but the big boss still talkin' about closin' up.  Have been looking for new employment; hardly anyone's hiring.  Economy's the schitz.  Not just the little guys are feelin' it; the big name companies are feelin' the pinch, too, plus the prices keep skyrocketing:  food, petrol, health care costs -- you name it, and the price keeps goin' on the up and up!  Nobody is spared!

I try to keep current with the news, but all it does is turn me stomach, make me quissy.  Can't stand the hoon in the Big White House; I think he's daft!  Meegin, she can't stand him either, and she's not even a U.S. citizen!!

I can't hardly wait for November 2010!  *sigh*  Two more years, two more years!!  *groan*

This recent trip I had back to Oz might be the last trip I take in a while if the factory where I work closes.  That's why you haven't heard from me in a while:  took me trip back home to Oz so I could see Meegin and also lookin' for gainful employment while here.  And of course, working; I don't have much of a life anymore!

Here back home spring has sprung:  the trees are leafin' up, and the flowers have burst forth in wild abandon.  Also time for me allergies to kick in.  I have been sneezin' practically nonstop since comin' back from Oz!!  It's been terrible!!  I think I've already gone through three boxes of tissues!

Sunday will be Easter.  I will go to church that day; I'm not usually a church-goer, but I do go on Chrissie or on Easter.  I will then go to a mate's house and perhaps watch some baseball; I love baseball!  Hopefully our team (the Nashville Sounds) will do well this year; if not, I'm givin' up baseball entirely, and perhaps switch me interests to football (American football, not the football we play back home; we call soccer "football" back home in Oz)! LOL

Maybe I'll even go out to eat; everyone seems to have the same idea on days like Easter!  So, why not join 'em??  :)

We'll see how the weather holds; if it's nice, I'll go out; if not, I'll just stay home, put a fire in the fireplace, kick back, and relax! 

Well, the doorbell's ringin'; some drongo wants to disturb me at six in the morning!  *sigh*  Hopefully it ain't no godblamed kid; lately, the tykes have been foolin' around, ringin' people's doorbells and then runnin' off by the time we open the door, hopin' we don't catch 'em in the act.  Stupid goons!!  Now I know why I never got married or had kids!  Take care and talk to you soon; this is Charles saying over and out!
