This is Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux again. Remember me? I am the little girl who wrote you last year on the day you left our world, and because of it, lives were forever changed.
I was 8 1/2 then. I am now nine, nearing the age of ten. I have been very sad since that horrible, awful day, and I don't think I will EVER get over it. I personally didn't lose anyone in the terrorist attacks against our Nation, but I know people who had friends who died in those attacks. Like M'Kaya Mnjama: she worked in your buildings, and she lost 11 of her co-workers. And my friend, M'buti Moore-Sormiento: she lost a friend who had been in the buildings when the planes hit. She was instantly killed, and my friend's world was forever changed because Stephanie was the first person from America that became a friend to her.
I don't think I will ever forget the images of you burning, along with your twin; and I will never forget the shock and horror I felt when I saw it in magazines and on tv. And then, when you both fell...this really upset me, and I was so scared that more attacks would happen. They did--the Pentagon in Washington D.C. was hit next, and then that plane that went down in that field in Pennsylvania--, and I remember feeling so helpless and frightened. I didn't understand the reasoning behind the attacks, and I still don't even now. But I have learned to forgive those who were behind the attacks (I still find it hard to pray for people who murder, but Jesus prayed for HIS enemies, so I feel that it is my Christian duty to do the same), and all I CAN do for them is pray for them and hope that God can change them (He CAN!!).
I had the privilege of seeing you, World Trade Centers, twice. I saw you in 2000, and I saw you again in July of last year, two months to THE DAY before you were so savagely attacked; and you will forever live on in my heart. I now wear a necklace with a charm of the Towers on it, and I pray for you and for America each and every day before I do my daily devotions. I also write a lot, and I have written several poems and stories about September 11, and it's helped me a LOT!!
As I said, World Trade Centers, I am nearing the age of 10. I will be ten on December 25. Christmas Day. I am still rather short for my age, and I sometimes wonder if I'll EVER grow to be tall. At times, being short is the ABSOLUTE PITS. I have black hair (now short; it used to be very long), black eyes, and dark skin. I walk on crutches and wear leg braces because I have arthritis. I was the one who had the bright pink crutches. (NOW do you remember me?? I certainly remember YOU, and I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU, World Trade Centers!! Never in a MILLION years!!)
I sure hope Jesus is watching over you both, and I hope you will remain safe. I sure will never forget you both, and you will live on in my heart!! New York City JUST isn't the same anymore since you left! I look at the NYC skyline on tv or in magazines, and I feel so sad because it just reminds me of what happened, and I want to remember you as you were BEFORE all of this mess happened!!
I will surely be remembering you on September 11, that is for DARN sure!!! I will NEVER FORGET!!!!
God bless you, World Trade Centers!! I still miss you both in more ways than you will EVER know!!
Tearfully yours,
Your brokenhearted friend in Nashville, Tennessee,
It sent chills up and down my spine. A really touching and wonderful tribute!

I give this 10+
Gurl I admire your courage to ignore the stupid things and to just get on with life. This is a wonderful write and a superb tribute to the WTC. They continue to live in everyone's hearts forever.
and i'm rating a 10 ++ because this is a well written story. great job on this...may we always remember, but never forget! :) (((HUGS))) and love, karla. :)
i am giving myself a rating for this one because this was the first story i have written since i was verbally abused by an author on this site. it was a story i felt that needed to be written, and it conveys the feelings i still feel about what transpired last september 11. my feelings are still strong, and i still can't really talk about it to others; i am still filled with rage over those terrorists' insensitiveness to human life and their hatred. it is something i will never understand....
