Harley Beau Vaughan here.  Hope this finds y'all well.

Figured an update was in due order, so here goes nothing ...

I am doing okay, but I am ready to have mom and dad ship Aurora and Stormie to Siberia; they continue to bug the snit outta me.  They think they know everything; it really annoys me to no end!!  I'm also ready to get outta school; school is nothing but a huge waste of my time!  I can think of better ways to spend the day instead of sitting in a stuffy classroom; now that spring is here, I would rather spend my days outside than in school!

We had some wild weather a few days ago:  bad storms with a lot of wind, hail, and lightning; it was really scary!  I thought the oak trees in our backyard were going to fall; the storm knocked out our power for eight hours, so we spent it at the Thibodeauxes (they had power; they have a generator).  It was not fun!

Then I heard Mississippi and Alabama got smacked by tornadoes; Mississippi got it really bad.  Yazoo City had an F-5 tornado (the baddest of the bad); the thing destroyed half of the town, and 10 people were killed including a baby and several children.  It is going to take a lot of time for them to pick up the pieces and rebuild.

That doesn't sit well with me, especially since we don't have any basements or shelters to go to.  Whenever it goes bad on us, weatherwise, we go to the center room of our house, away from any windows, and pray the walls hold up and the power stays on.  Meanwhile, you can hear the wind howling and the hail/rain hammering our house; it is very terrifying.  What is worse are hurricanes; I've been in several of those, and tornadoes have nothing on hurricanes!

We went through Rita and we got hit with the back edge of Katrina; it was only by a miracle we didn't lose our house (though we did have flooding and damage from said floods and no power for about a week). 

Dad and mom are still working at the motorcycle shop; sometimes I help them on the weekends.  I like doing this because then I can get away from Aurora and Stormie.  I also like it when I spend it with MeMaw Opal because she makes the best fudge brownies and chocolate chip cookies; they're to die for!!
