A little bee brought a message of friendship across the street and
that was just the beginning.
It was a day like any other day until...
the young artist opened the shade to the sun on this fresh spring day in May. Gazing out the window, she watches the sky intently. It seems the same events happen every single day like clockwork and why not just try to capture one moment on canvas or paper.
"I do have strange thoughts, but I am an artist!", a thought pops into her head. She has alot of weird thoughts lately.
Across the street, there is a large Victorian house.. She wonders about the strange man she often sees in the garden. Or if he sometimes gazes across the street and sees her gazing back.
"What a pair in circumstance we have become! Why not just walk across the street and say hello? I understand. Truly I do. You have no idea."
Across the street, the man waters a small rose garden.
His eyes scan the circumference of his world, then he
catches a glimpse from a window not very far away.
It is the same little girl, just like before, with her
paints and easel, trying to paint herself out of a lonely
world.
"Oh, the little ones are cruel to shun such a lovely girl. I have yet to see her smile. She can beat and not have to endure those who clearly don't understand her", as he waters the circle of beets.
A bee flies around his head and he swats it away, then it flies across the street and onto her window ledge.
As if it knew exactly where to go.
And then she looked across the street at the strange man
watering the garden. And met his gaze.
She opens the window and places a single raisin
on the window ledge.
My memory of Elias is intimate but brief; I asked him, "what happened, where are you taking me, who are you? Tell me!"
