     Life

Life came so easy to her. Everyone remarked upon it. Beautiful she was and she had the essence of the grace that exists within without it's owner seemingly aware of it.

Kind and gentle she floats through rooms within an ether no one had but her, but all could see.

Anger put her way was never even seen or acknowledged; therefore never returned. Her hand was always the offering one.

People would meet her and not believe; and then test her with sharp words, verbal knives and jabbing eyes. But she never noticed and did not return what was never noticed.

Each and every one could see over time and ultimately perceived that she was what she seemed.

How incredible for all to come to perceive this was true , this was her truth, her gift, this something special about her was real; and each and every one of them sought over time, and some became, her very best friend and she never acknowledged  prior slights from any.

Animals seemed hypnotized by her quiet administrations and she always acknowledged the children, never requiring that they be unseen.

That voice of her's was bell-like clear.

Often new people would whisper "Is she for real?"

I was reassured she was.

But one day I, being a newcomer, visited her and sat observing the spirit that the whole town so much observed. She sat accross from me quiet, observant. I filled the silence above the tea talking incessently of me and finally i realized i had done so because she was really interested in my views.

I finally asked what was her secret to life. She looked up thoughtful and turned her head toward her bay window and in a whisper I could barely hear. I thought I heard her say:

"People say life is easy on me. I think it is that way because I am easy on life."
