Michiko and her boyfriend (as well as her seeing-eye dog) are stranded at one of the local hospitals, waiting for the water to go down; she is not very happy about it. If anything, she is terrified.

Dear Journal~

Michiko Osaka here.  I am afraid I am not doing very well at all.  We've had some terrible flooding here, and I am stranded at one of the local hospitals; have been here since this event began.  Don't know when I will be going back home ... that is, if I even have a home left.

Thankfully, Kaz, my boyfriend, and my dog, "Osaka", are here with me; if anything were to happen to them, I don't know what I would have done.  Yet I haven't heard anything from friends or neighbors; I am getting more scared by the day.

Kaz said the Grand Ole Opry (and other tourist attractions) have been flooded; to hear this breaks my heart because Nashville depends on the tourists; now all that money has flown out the window; there's no telling when (or if) it will be started up again.  I love the Grand Ole Opry; now it's sitting there, empty, with water standing inside.

Thankfully, the water is starting to recede, but the damage may have already been done.  At least ten people have died in Nashville alone, and there are fears that more bodies may be discovered, thus adding to the toll.

I don't know when I will return home, but I am almost afraid to find out if I even have a home or if it's been heavily damaged by the floodwaters.  I am seriously thinking of moving somewhere else, perhaps up north; this weather pattern has done little to calm my already-frayed nerves.  It's like I am reliving my tornado nightmares all over again, and I can't take much more of this anymore.  I am past my breaking point!

This might be the last time you hear from me in a long while.  I don't know what is going to happen to me (or to Kaz), but I have got to get out of this area; there's been too much in the way of heartbreak these past several days!

Take care, and may God bless you!  Pray for our city, and pray for those who have already lost loved ones in the flooding!  Most of all, pray for Kaz and myself; we all could use a miracle about now!  Thanks in advance!

~Love, your friend in (water-logged) Nashville, Michiko Osaka.  :(  *tears!*

Ever wonder why City Mayors and Governors don't take measures BEFORE nature calamities happen when they know will happen?
Like in New Orleans, those crumbling walls should had been repaired long before a Katrine disaster.
My heart goes to those that suffer years after years and pay the ultimate price because no one has been able to do something about.

The pictures from flooded Nashville are truly horrendous, and they brought back many sad memories for me of the flooded New Orleans. Our thoughts and prayers and assistance should now all be heading there.
