Sidney Younce is just about over his pneumonia.

Sidney Younce here.

I am doing much better: am off the oxygen, but have to continue to do the breathing treatments and take my pills until they're all gone.  I am so happy; I feel a lot like myself!

Mom and dad are thinking of sending me to summer school, just so I can catch up; I'm way behind on my homework asssignments.  Bummer!  Yet I am grateful because I could have very easily died: I had a particularly nasty strain of viral pneumonia; it really hit me for a loop!

Dr. Pratt is very pleased at the progress I'm making.  He says my lungs/breathing have improved dramatically.  Don't have to have him tell me that:  I can now breathe without having to fight for air whenever I take a deep breath, and my chest no longer hurts.  I still have to take it easy, though, but he says if I continue to improve, he just might release me and I can get back to my normal life I had prior to getting sick.

Maddie and Yoachim, my bratty little sister and brother, have even been behaving; they aren't as annoying as they usually are.  I appreciate that; at least they know to show me some respect as I continue to recover from my pneumonia!  I am back at school now, but I have to be careful to stay away from people who are sneezing/coughing:  otherwise, I could have a relapse and wind back in the hospital and have to go through all of this again!

I don't want that, so I am being extremely cautious.  It's a big pain, but I don't want to have to go through all those painful sticks and procedures or x-rays again!!  Once was more than enough!!

The oxygen company came and got the tanks of oxygen last week, so now I don't have to look at them anymore.  The breathing machine, however, remains, and I have to do my breathing treatments twice, when I get up in the morning, and again, when I go to bed.

This will probably be my last entry, now that the crisis/hospital stay is behind me.  I can get back to living my life as normally as possible and make sure I take the necessary precautions, so I don't end up back at square one all over again!  That would NOT be good AT all!

Well, I'm getting ready to go to my next class (Spanish), so I will vamanos outta here.  Take care and thanks for putting up with my musings!  God bless and see ya around!

~Sidney.  :)

When a child is sick and have two older brothers and a younger sister, he couldn't be pampered without consequences, cos children tend to se themselves as the one we should be looking after! LOL

It's always good to see kids getting better and that their "bratty sister and brother" are not as annoying to the kid as they had been, although I have a feeling that can change rather quickly.
