A story of seemingly random disconnected happenings.

 Beijing

The flight had landed and she smiled. Three years, she had waited to see him. she looked breathtaking, but she didn't know that. He would have told her. If he was coming . But he wasn't. He wasn't on the flight. She was going to cry in three minutes. Again, she didn't know. I did. I saw her. Her lips were trembling. I wish i could go there and hug her. Just tell her what happened to him. The gunshot, the mugging, She was to meet him. That was the plan. They decided to give it three years. Then decide if they loved each other. He had decided. I wanted to tell her.
Her tears came, my heart went cold.

New Jersey

His ten year old son, was crying, and the boy came running up to his father. The father smiled, he hadn't heard him cry like that since his toy car broke down, two years ago. But the kid said nothing. It was then, that he saw the blood on the kid's hands. Panic crept up on him and caught him unawares. He ran out to the front yard, and just outside the gate he saw her. On the street-side. A pool of blood had formed around her body. The little boy was crying. I looked at him. He stopped. His father looked at me. Looked through me. His eyes were bloodshot. But i knew, he was giving up on life. Two hours from now he'll kill himself and little Timmy will be orphaned.
For now, he collapsed next to her and started crying. Screaming for his love. I shut my eyes.

Paris

She awoke with a start. Her head took a second before it could start hurting. It was bound to. Her eyes took a second to get used to the sunlight. What happened last night? She saw a ceiling fan. She sat up. Who was the man next to her? Her clothes were all over the floor. She couldn't remember him at all. Where was she?

He dreamt of her in his sleep. He dreamt that he was marrying her. Raising a family. How had last night happened, he had no idea, but she was the girl of his dreams. He smiled in his sleep. Too bad she was too busy creeping out of the room. She ran. She ran past me in the lobby of the hotel. I turned as i watched her leave. I wish i could hold her back. Tell her to fall in love with him. Just stay. He will wake up in ten minutes and find her missing. He will scream her name go back to the bar where he met her. I saw him leave. He meant nothing to her.

Beijing... She heard the news, he had died in a bar in Paris. She wished she had told him she loved him before he died. She wished he knew. But i knew.

Paris... He remembered his father crying over his mother's body, then his father lying next to her, gun in hand. He considered killing himself. He carried his gun.

I turned to god, asked him what i could have done to save myself, To tell her in Beijing that i had gone for another girl in Paris, and shot there by her husband and robbed. She would not have cried over me then. She would not have loved me anymore.

God said i couldn't do anything to the past. I should have stayed back with her when i had the chance. Told her, then itself, i loved her. I should have told her. I saw her cry. And a white hole burst through me. I went back.

Beijing, three years ago...the present.

I told her i loved her.

I held her close. I kissed her.
