Hello!  It is I, Mia Denise Cranston, writing.  I hope this finds y'all well.

I am still working both jobs:  remain as busy as ever.  I love one of my jobs; the other, I could really care less, but I have to stick with it if I want to pay my bills on time (especially those darned medical bills!).  When one has MS like I do, one can't be too careful about her health, especially me; so much can happen when I least expect it.

I am right now living with relatives (an aunt); my house got flooded during the storms of May 1 and 2, but hopefully I will be back within a month or two in my own home.  I am grateful to be alive; it could have very easily been so much worse.  A home can always be replaced; human lives cannot.  Some people lost more than their homes:  they lost loved ones or friends; they are the ones who truly have it rough.  Over a dozen people died in the flooding here in Tennessee, in the Nashville metro area.  I'm just thankful I was not one of them.

In addition to my house, I also lost my church.  Our church got damaged and now we're meeting at an old warehouse until the church can be rebuilt.  It's a little odd, but we're getting used to it, slowly.  Once the music cranks up and the pastor preaches, we soon forget that we're in an old warehouse because it feels more like church.

Joe was more fortunate than I:  he only had a few inches of water in his basement, and some books and papers got ruined, but other than that, he escaped virtually unscathed.  He lives on a hill, on Twin Rivers Lane, which is about a mile from where I live.

Joe still checks on me, especially now since the near-disaster we had a few weeks ago.  To me he reminds me of a male rooster watching over his flock, or a security guard watching over a business or crowd of people.  It is very nice to know that someone cares that much for me and my safety; I just wish there were more Joe C. Reeds around:  the world would be a much nicer place if there were!

Well, I have to get ready for church again (I go during the morning and evening), so I will run along now.  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Mia Cranston signing off!  Take care and God bless!
