An update on a little girl living with an incurable, fatal disease and her family.

June 22, 2010, Palo Alto, California~

Barthe St. Clair here.  Sorry for not writing; the last month has been pretty hairy, to put it mildly.  Bitsy, our youngest daughter (she turned nine in May), was in and out of the hospital with her breathing.  She has cystic fibrosis, and for a while there, we thought we were going to  lose her.  She really got bad off; she's just now feeling more like herself, and it's been two weeks since she got out of the hospital.

She got so bad she ended up in the Intensive Care unit, hooked up to tubes.  She really looked pitiful.  My heart broke when I saw her.  All we could do was cry, pray, and hope for a miracle.

We got that miracle.  Bitsy recovered, and she's now home, trying to regain lost strength.

Our other two daughters, Evenescence Michelle (14) and Happiness Rose (12), are enjoying their summertime break from school.  They spend just about every day at the pool or lying out in the sun, trying to capture some rays.  I make sure they use their sunscreen and try to limit their exposure; try telling two active teenagers that when the pool keeps calling their name!  It is a never-ending job!  LOL

We got some news last week:  I am pregnant!  Yes, we are going to add to the family!  I am about two weeks along.  Don't I know it:  have a bad case of morning sickness just about every day; spend all morning at the porcelain palace, hurking up my breakfast.  It's nasty!  *Bleagh*  I don't know if I can handle too much more of this; I am tired of throwing up!  The worst offender?  Milk!  Every time I smell milk, I want to toss my cookies (in which I often do)!  It's gross!!

If I don't stop this by next week, I'm having Wilbur take me to see my gynecologist; something's GOT to be done about this constant state of nausea!!

Personally, I hope we have a boy.  We have three girls; we can use another male figure in this house!  Poor Wilbur is outnumbered by females four to one!  I'd love to know what it would be like to buy baseball uniforms, balls and bats, toy trucks or cars, and boy clothes!

The girls are excited at the possibility of having a new brother or sister.  They want a girl. I told them, I would rather have a son, but I didn't care, just as long as the baby is healthy.  That's all that matters!

Well, Bitsy's been napping for the last two hours; think it's time to get her up.  I will write in here again soon; pray my pregnancy goes well, and pray that Bitsy regains her strength and doesn't have any more problems!  I would greatly appreciate it!  Thanks in advance!

God bless!

~Love, your friend in California, Barthe St. Clair.  :)
